  • Publication number: 20110057605
Abstract: This invention discloses a power supply system and power supply method with a power saving function for a rechargeable battery. The power supply system includes a power adapter and a portable electronic device body. The power adapter has a control pin. The portable electronic device body includes a connector, a charging unit, and an embedded controller. The embedded controller is used for detecting a capacity state of the rechargeable battery and whether the rechargeable battery is connected with the connector to determine whether the rechargeable battery needs to be charged. When the rechargeable battery does not need to be charged, the embedded controller controls the power adapter to output a first voltage via the control pin. When the rechargeable battery needs to be charged, the embedded controller controls the power adapter to output a second voltage via the control pin. The first voltage is lower than the second voltage.

  • Patent number: 7330984
Abstract: A power monitoring circuit having an automatic feedback function and an overload protection function is described. The power monitoring circuit has a current detection module, a voltage detection module, a multiplication module, and an overload protection module. The current detection module is used to obtain the current value of a power supply path. The voltage detection module is used to obtain the voltage value of the power supply path. The multiplication module generates the power value of the power supply path with reference to the current value and the voltage value. The overload protection module determines, with reference to the power value, whether to switch off the input of the power supply path, so that the overload protection module protects the system load connected to the power supply path. The current detection module, the voltage detection module, and the multiplication module are integrated into a chip.

  • Patent number: 7239536
Abstract: An electronic apparatus, for inputting a DC power through an adapter, includes a loading circuit and a DC power input apparatus. The loading circuit, including a first power input terminal and a second power input terminal, is used for receiving the first DC power. The DC power input apparatus, for inputting the first DC power to the loading circuit, includes a fuse and rectifier. The fuse includes a first terminal coupled to a first voltage terminal of the adapter, and a second terminal coupled to the first voltage input terminal of the loading circuit. The rectifier, coupled to the fuse, includes a first polarity terminal coupled to the second terminal of the fuse, and a second polarity terminal coupled to a second voltage terminal of the adapter and the second power input terminal of the loading circuit. The second polarity terminal has a polarity inverse to the second voltage terminal.
