The image forming apparatus transmits, to an application server, a request for information of one or more applications executable on the determined one or more platforms and receives, from the application server, an application list including the information of the one or more applications. The image forming apparatus determines one or more applications to be installed on the one or more platforms, based on the application list, and downloads, from the application server, installation files of the one or more applications to be installed. The image forming apparatus installs each of the installation files on an executable platform from among the one or more platforms.
