  • Publication number: 20100103889
Abstract: The present invention relates to a preamble allocation method and a random access method in a mobile communication system. In the present invention, one among preamble resources is allocated to specific mobile stations in advance, before random access. The mobile stations request random access by transmitting a preamble based on the pre-allocated preamble resource to a base station. It is therefore possible to prevent collision caused by the fact that other mobile stations transmit the same preamble.

  • Publication number: 20090280738
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system that counts UEs using an MBMS, and a method thereof. The wireless communication system is connected with a UE through a radio link, and includes a Node B and a controlling radio network controller (CRNC). The Node B receives sequence setting information on a sequence included in a preamble transmitted from the UE from a network manager. The CRNC controls the Node B, detects a sequence according to whether to use an MBMS based on the sequence setting information, and performs a counting process for counting UEs based on whether the UE uses the MBMS. According to the present invention, counting of UEs using an MBMS can be efficiently performed by using a predetermined sequence.

  • Publication number: 20090239545
Abstract: Disclosed is a random access method for minimizing delay for call setup, managing a random access request conflict, and adaptively allocating uplink radio resources according to the reason of an asynchronous random access from a terminal in an initial random access procedure between a base station and a terminal in a cellular mobile communication system for a packet service. The method begins with a radio resource control (RRC) layer of the terminal transferring a control primitive and an RRC connection request message to a medium access control (MAC) layer of the terminal. The MAC layer of the terminal requests the MAC layer of the base station to allocate a resource for random access. The MAC layer of the base station allocates resources upon the allocation request from the terminal and transfers the resources to the MAC layer of the terminal.
