  • Patent number: 8631901
Abstract: An acoustic structure includes plate members defining a plurality of hollow regions in parallel relation to each other. Opening portions are formed in one surface (reflective surface) of the plate members in corresponding relation to the hollow regions and in such a manner as to communicate the hollow regions with an external surface. A plurality of sound absorbing members are provided in a dispersed fashion on regions of the one surface (reflective surface) other than the opening portions and neighborhoods of the opening portions. As a modification, a sound absorbing member may be loaded in one of the hollow regions and partly exposed to the outer space through the corresponding opening portion.

  • Patent number: 8546674
Abstract: An object is to readily visualize a propagation state of sound emitted within a sound space. A sound to light converter includes: a microphone; a light emitting unit; and a light emission control unit that acquires an instantaneous value of an output signal from the microphone in synchronization with a strobe signal and that allows the light emitting unit to emit light with a luminance level corresponding to the acquired instantaneous value. The strobe signal is generated and output in a signal generator of the sound to light converter. Alternatively, the strobe signal is generated and output in a control device of a sound field visualizing system in synchronization with an emission of sound to be visualized by the sound to light converter.

  • Patent number: 8157052
Abstract: In an acoustic structure, sound absorbing effect is achieved by interference between incident waves falling in an opening portion and reflected waves radiated from the opening as a result of resonance occurring within a hollow member in response to the incident waves, and a sound absorbing region is formed, for example, in a frontal direction of the opening portion. Sound scattering effect is achieved through interaction between the above-mentioned interference and interference between the incident waves and sound waves radiated from the opening portion, and a sound scattering region is formed, for example, near the sound absorbing region. A sound scattering effect is achieved by flows of gas molecules being produced in an oblique direction, not normal to the opening portion and reflective surface, due to a phase difference between the sound waves radiated from the opening portion and the sound waves radiated from the reflective surface.

  • Patent number: 8073187
Abstract: A speaker capable of properly adjusting a spring characteristic with which a voice coil is driven and capable of being driven in large amplitude. When a position control coil wound around a bobbin is at a reference position, both ends of the coil cross a magnetic gap formed between external and internal yokes by a predetermined length and Lorentz forces acting on the front and rear ends are balanced. When the voice coil moves in either forward or rearward direction, lengths of the magnetic gap crossed by the front and rear ends of the control coil are different therebetween, and the vector sum of Lorentz forces acting on the position control coil is opposite in direction from the movement of the voice coil, whereby the voice coil is stably held at the reference position.

  • Publication number: 20100028554
Abstract: An embossed sheet, on which fine embossed patterns are regularly formed on a surface, is manufactured without any defects and with a high quality at a high line speed and at a high level of productivity. A method for manufacturing an embossed sheet, in which irregularities of a surface of an emboss roller is formed by transfer on a surface of a flexible strip-shaped sheet W. After coating a resin solution which is diluted with an organic solvent, the sheet on which a resin solution layer is formed on a surface is continuously run, the organic solvent contained in this resin solution layer is dried, the sheet after dried is wound around the emboss roller which is rotating, and irregularities of a surface of the emboss roller are transferred to the resin solution layer, and then the resin solution layer is cured, with the sheet being wound around the emboss roller.

  • Patent number: 7319694
Abstract: Dominated nodes A, B and C equip only with lower layers 1a, 2a and 3a, and upper layers for the lower layers are not equipped. Each of the lower layers 1a, 2a and 3a comprises a preset device, and managing information for managing a communication function of the lower layer is read from the preset device and set to a function device of the lower layer. The dominated nodes A, B and C can execute isochronous transmission without a dominating node equipped with an upper layer for managing the lower layers. The dominating node is not always necessary on an IEEE1394 bus.

  • Patent number: 7158488
Abstract: One or more nodes on a communication network are selected and set as one node group. In each of the nodes, group identification information representing the node group to which the node belongs is stored in advance. The group identification information is attached to the header of a data packet to be transmitted, so that nodes constituting a node group that should commonly receive data can be readily identified by comparing the group identification information imparted to the transmitted data packet and the group identification information stored in each receiving node. Given node can choose to become a node of a particular function, such as a clock master node, in which case control is performed to delete, from the node group, a node having so far played the role of the node of the particular function in such a manner that there exists only one node of the particular function per node group.
