Patent number: 6093106Abstract: The tooth shape at around the pitch circle of the outer tooth gear of the pinion to be connected to the prime mover or driven shaft has a tooth surface which is in axial direction at around the central portion of the tooth width and which contacts at around the tooth width end at the allowable displacement angle and the backlash is made small and the outer tooth gear of the pinion is crowned in to an exponential function curve. The precession vibration and the torsional vibration at a high speed rotation can be suppressed because of the small backlash. The crowning curve is exponential function which causes the contacting point to move toward the tooth width end as the displacement increases and the radius of curvature becomes larger as the point on the curve approaches to the tooth width end, so that even when the contacting gear number decreases when displaced, the increase in the contacting stress is suppressed and a larger power can be transmitted as compared to the conventional design.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1997Date of Patent: July 25, 2000Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Junichi Shigeura

Patent number: 5911630Abstract: The flexible gear coupling comprises a seal member 14 axially slidably disposed on the outer circumference surface of the connection portion 13b of the pinion 13, the each opposite end of the seal member 14 having a spherical seal surface 14a of the predetermined radius r having its center at the position A at which the central axis A1 of the width of the outer teeth gear 13a of the pinion 13 crosses the axis A2 and abutting with an abutting surface 15a of the end cover 15 and a spring member 17 disposed on the outer circumference side of the connection portion 13b of the pinion 13 for urging the seal member 14 against the abutting surface 15a of the end cover 15 at the predetermined force.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1997Date of Patent: June 15, 1999Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Junichi Shigeura

Patent number: 5679076Abstract: A flexible gear coupling which stirs the enclosed lubricant to extend the life of the lubricant. A stirring device is made of elastic material and has a first part which is fixed either to a sleeve or a pinion and a movable part which is moved by centrifugal force. The movable portion moves in the inner peripheral direction of the sleeve when the rotary shaft moves the gears. The movable portion is positioned within the enclosed lubricant. When the speed of the rotary shaft changes, the movable portion changes position and also moves the lubricant so as to gradually mix the lubricant.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1995Date of Patent: October 21, 1997Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Junichi Shigeura

Patent number: 5537889Abstract: A gear device improved in lowering the product of the load F acting on a pair of intermeshing teeth and the relative sliding velocity v at the area of contact of the gears, thereby minimizing the frictional heat. The gear device includes a first gear and a second gear each having a tooth profile formed by an involute curve. At least one of the first and second gears is provided with the tooth profile corrected by a combination of a correction curve W and the involute curve. On plane coordinates consisting of an x axis, an origin and a y axis which intersects with the x axis at the origin, the correction curve W is expressed by equations passing through points P.sub.1 (x.sub.1, y.sub.1) and P.sub.2 (x.sub.2, y.sub.2) and satisfying the conditions of: y=0, dy/dx=0 at the origin when x.sub.1 <x.sub.2 and y.sub.1 <y.sub.2. The x axis is the line of action indicative of a locus along which an intermeshing point moves while the first gear transmits a force to the second gear.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1994Date of Patent: July 23, 1996Assignees: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha, Aizoh KuboInventors: Junichi Shigeura, Aizoh Kubo

Patent number: 5222406Abstract: In a gear drive device of a railway motor car having a larger gear fixed on an axle and a smaller gear fixed on a rotation shaft of a traction motor, tooth trace of the smaller gear or that of the larger gear is twisted in a manner that the teeth of the smaller and larger gears are engaged in parallel with each other when the axle is deflected due to the load of the railway motor car.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1992Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Junichi Shigeura

Patent number: 4750680Abstract: A device for increasing the factor of adhesion between the wheel of a railway vehicle and a rail, in which adhesion increasing grains are ejected together with air to a point between the wheel and the rail. The vertical aim of the ejection nozzle is automatically controlled depending on the deflection of an elastic member between the undercarriage and the wheel.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1987Date of Patent: June 14, 1988Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Junichi Shigeura, Noriyuki Isoda, Nobuyoshi Takahashi

Patent number: 4747627Abstract: A sanding apparatus improves adhesion between a railcar wheel and a rail by supplying adhesion intensifying particles to the contact faces. Sand and/or quartz particles, having diameters such that at least 50% of the particles are 100 to 300 micrometers, are mixed with compressed air and jetted at high velocity through a U-shaped storage chamber, out a nozzle, to the wheel-rail contact area. In the nozzle, a compressed air supply pipe surrounds and projects beyond the end of the particle supply pipe to create an air curtain surrounding the jetted particles. A heater, a heat insulation member, or constantly leaking air may be used to prevent freezing in the pipes.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1986Date of Patent: May 31, 1988Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Junichi Shigeura, Nobuyoshi Takahashi, Noriyuki Isoda

Patent number: 4709194Abstract: A method of controlling the mode of driving an electric vehicle so that the electric vehicle is accelerated at a maximum acceleration and is decelerated at a maximum deceleration. The mode of variation of the running speed of the electric vehicle is estimated on the basis of the variation of the running speed of the electric vehicle calculated from the revolving speeds of the axles of the electric vehicle detected by revolving speed detectors associated with the axles, respectively. The axles are controlled for minute idle rotation or minute slip on the basis of the estimated mode of variation of the running speed of the electric vehicle to produce a maximum effective adhesion between the wheels attached to the axles and the rail so that the acceleration of the electric vehicle at a maximum acceleration and the deceleration of the same at a maximum deceleration are achieved.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1986Date of Patent: November 24, 1987Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigeichi Yagi, Junichi Shigeura
