  • Patent number: 5691584
Abstract: A wheel motor for a vehicle is provided in which an electric motor is arranged in a central space defined in a wheel, to rotatably drive the wheel. A gear reducer is also arranged in the central space of the wheel, which has a plurality of gears including a final stage gear having an axial through hole formed therein. The electric motor includes a housing fixed to the vehicle body, a stator secured to the housing, a rotor rotatably fitted in a central space defined in the stator to generate the rotative driving force during rotation thereof, and an output shaft connected to the rotor through the gear reducer as well as to the wheel to be rotatively driven by the rotor, for transmitting the rotating output from the rotor through the gear reducer to the wheel. The output shaft extends through an axial through hole formed in the final stage gear of the gear reducer and an axial through hole formed in the rotor, and is rotatably supported by opposite end portions of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5064011
Abstract: A crawler-propelled truck includes a chassis frame assembly, an engine mounted on the chassis frame assembly and having a substantially vertical crankshaft, a gear transmission case having an upper portion coupled to the engine and housing a gear transmission operatively coupled to the engine, drive wheels supported on a lower portion of the gear transmission case and rotatable by the engine through the gear transmission, driven wheels rotatably supported on the chassis frame assembly forwardly of the drive wheels, crawlers trained around the drive and driven wheels, and a load carrying table mounted on the chassis frame assembly above the crawlers.

  • Patent number: 4792052
Abstract: An apparatus including a grip sensor for controlling the number of revolutions of an engine. The grip sensor detects whether or not fingers of an operator approach toward the grip sensor or the former come in contact with the latter. Usually, the grip sensor is incorporated in the gripping portion of a control lever which controls actuation of working tools. The apparatus includes a controller for outputting a deceleration signal in response to an output signal from the grip sensor in order to reduce the current number of revolutions of the engine to a level lower than the number of revolutions of the engine in the high operative state when no detection is achieved by means of the grip sensor. Alternatively, the controller may output an acceleration signal in response to an output signal from the grip sensor in order to raise the current number of revolutions of the engine to a level higher than that the engine in the idle rotational state when detection is achieved by means of the grip sensor.
