    Abstract: A first developing unit is arranged close to an image carrier for developing a latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier with a first developer, and a second developing unit is arranged close to the image carrier for developing a latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier with a second developer. An actuating mechanism is connected to first and second moving mechanism for selectively actuating the first and second moving mechanisms so that the first or second developing unit is operatively associated with the image carrier without the rotation of the magnet rollers.
