  • Patent number: 8041407
Abstract: A sliding mechanism used for an apparatus such as a portable device suppresses shaking between housing units in an opened state, closed state or on the way to opening/closing. A slide module is provided for opposed surfaces against a first housing unit (upper housing unit) and second housing unit (lower housing unit) to be slid. The slide module slidably supports the first and second housing units. Since the slide module has a slider and a fixing part that slidably supports the slider, it is structured that in case the first and second housing units are in an opened state, the slider is not exposed through the first and second housing units. Structure is included that compared with the first and second housing units in a closed state, in case in the opened state, a guide of the slider for the fixing part of the slide module is made wider.

  • Publication number: 20060100003
Abstract: A folding-type electronic device, such as a portable telephone, is provided with a functional component such as a switch that a user can operate regardless of whether the device is in the opened state or in the closed state, without increasing the number of parts and without expanding the mounting space. The functional component, such as a rotation switch 5, is mounted on the space between a pair of bearing mechanisms 4 that are provided between the main casing 2 and the sub-casing 3. The user can access and operate the functional component, either when the device is in an opened state or in a closed state.

  • Patent number: 6995721
Abstract: A portable terminal apparatus can attain a cost reduction and miniaturization. An antenna is accommodated in a housing of the portable terminal apparatus. The antenna includes a plurality of independent antenna wiring portions formed on a flexible base. A printed-wiring board, accommodated in the housing, has a wiring pattern connected to the antenna. An intersection part is provided in the printed-wiring board where a part of the wiring pattern crosses another part of the wiring pattern so as to connect the antenna wiring portions in a loop form.

  • Patent number: 6098920
Abstract: A paper transfer assisting mechanism is provided for ensuring proper transfer of elongated paper along a transfer path. The elongated paper has a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge extending in parallel to the first longitudinal edge. The paper transfer assisting mechanism includes a paper guide plate arranged adjacent to the transfer path, a first rotatable guide roller brought into contact with the first longitudinal edge of the paper, and a second rotatable guide roller brought into contact with the second longitudinal edge of the paper. The first rotatable guide roller is positionally fixed to the paper guide plate, whereas the second rotatable guide roller is adjustable in position with respect to the paper guide plate. To this end, the second guide roller is carried by a carriage which is slidably supported by a guide rod extending transversely of the transfer path.

  • Patent number: 6088556
Abstract: An electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an electrostatic latent image carrying body, an electric charger for uniformly electrifying the carrying body, an optical exposure unit to form an electrostatic latent image on the carrying body, a developer for developing the electrostatic latent image to form a toner image on the carrying body, a transfer unit for transferring the toner image from the carrying body onto a printing sheet, a fixing unit for fixing the toner image to the printing sheet, a cleaner for cleaning to remove residual toner from the carrying body and a toner returning mechanism for returning the residual toner removed by the cleaner to the developer. The developer includes a housing in which a toner chamber is defined, a developing roller rotatably mounted in the housing, an agitator rotatably mounted in the housing so as to be positioned in the toner chamber, a partitioning member provided in the housing for defining a carrier chamber adjacent to the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 5999771
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus is provided which includes a photosensitive drum, and a shaft for externally supporting the drum. The drum is removable from and mountable onto the shaft in a sliding manner. The apparatus also includes a guide rod releasably connected to the shaft. When the guide rod is connected to the shaft, the user can guide the drum along the rod both in removing the drum from the shaft and in mounting the drum onto the shaft. Further, the apparatus includes a stopper supported by the shaft. The stopper is arranged to project outwardly of the shaft for coming into engagement with the drum when the guide rod is not connected to the shaft. When the guide rod is connected to the shaft, the stopper retreats into the shaft for avoiding engagement with the drum.
