  • Patent number: 10991360
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for generating customized text-to-speech voices for a particular application. The method comprises generating a custom text-to-speech voice by selecting a voice for generating a custom text-to-speech voice associated with a domain, collecting text data associated with the domain from a pre-existing text data source and using the collected text data, generating an in-domain inventory of synthesis speech units by selecting speech units appropriate to the domain via a search of a pre-existing inventory of synthesis speech units, or by recording the minimal inventory for a selected level of synthesis quality. The text-to-speech custom voice for the domain is generated utilizing the in-domain inventory of synthesis speech units. Active learning techniques may also be employed to identify problem phrases wherein only a few minutes of recorded data is necessary to deliver a high quality TTS custom voice.

  • Patent number: 10496654
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to collect, analyze and report social media aggregated from a plurality of social media websites. Social media is retrieved from social media websites, analyzed for sentiment, and categorized by topic and user demographics. The data is then archived in a data warehouse and various interfaces are provided to query and generate reports on the archived data. In some embodiments, the system further recognizes alert conditions and sends alerts to interested users. In some embodiments, the system further recognizes situations where users can be influenced to view a company or its products in a more favorable light, and automatically posts responsive social media to one or more social media websites.

  • Patent number: 10115056
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for responding to an inquiry from a client via a network. The method and apparatus receive the inquiry from a client via a network. Based on the inquiry, question-answer pairs retrieved from the network are analyzed to determine a response to the inquiry. The QA pairs are not predefined. As a result, the QA pairs have to be analyzed in order to determine whether they are responsive to a particular inquiry. Questions of the QA pairs may be repetitive and similar to one another even for very different subjects, and without additional contextual and meta-level information, are not useful in determining whether their corresponding answer responds to an inquiry.

  • Publication number: 20180301145
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for approximating relevant responses to a user query with voice-enabled search. A system practicing the method receives a word lattice generated by an automatic speech recognizer based on a user speech and a prosodic analysis of the user speech, generates a reweighted word lattice based on the word lattice and the prosodic analysis, approximates based on the reweighted word lattice one or more relevant responses to the query, and presents to a user the responses to the query. The prosodic analysis examines metalinguistic information of the user speech and can identify the most salient subject matter of the speech, assess how confident a speaker is in the content of his or her speech, and identify the attitude, mood, emotion, sentiment, etc. of the speaker. Other information not described in the content of the speech can also be used.

  • Patent number: 10042877
Abstract: Information is aggregated and made available to users. A system monitors over the internet a first set of external information sources for a first user based on instructions from a first user profile that specifies information to aggregate for the first user. The system detects, based on the monitoring, new data at one of the first set of information sources. The system obtains the new data at the one of the first set of information sources, independent of preferences of the one of the first set of information sources. The system updates aggregated information for the first user with the new data from the one of the first set of information sources. The updated aggregated information for the first user is made available to the first user.

  • Patent number: 10032118
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may operate, for example, obtaining a number of blogs including an initial set of annotated blogs and unannotated blogs. The initial set of annotated blogs are annotated as being either relevant to a selected media program or not relevant to the selected media program. A set of features is determined associating the selected media program with the unannotated blogs and a trained classifier is generated based on the set of features. The trained classifier is applied to the blogs to identify a subset of blogs relevant to the selected media program. An analysis is performed on the selected blogs to determine a trend related to the selected media program and a graphical user interface is presented that concurrently presents the selected blogs, the trend, and the selected media program. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9825973
Abstract: Websites are monitored for changes over time. A domain name server resolves a domain name to a single internet protocol address and then performs a reverse resolution for the single internet protocol address. When multiple alias records resolve to the same host name, the domain name server determines the single internet protocol address virtually hosts multiple domain names.

  • Publication number: 20170300487
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for approximating responses to a user speech query in voice-enabled search based on metadata that include demographic features of the speaker. A system practicing the method recognizes received speech from a speaker to generate recognized speech, identifies metadata about the speaker from the received speech, and feeds the recognized speech and the metadata to a question-answering engine. Identifying the metadata about the speaker is based on voice characteristics of the received speech. The demographic features can include age, gender, socio-economic group, nationality, and/or region. The metadata identified about the speaker from the received speech can be combined with or override self-reported speaker demographic information.
