  • Patent number: 8200650
Abstract: From when any one of several DMSs 2 is selected, until contents are downloaded from that DMS 2, a DMP 1 stores the search information which has been specified for that DMS 2. And if some other DMS 2 is selected before contents have been downloaded from the DMS 2 which was first selected, then the DMP 1 specifies this search information which is stored to that other DMS 2. Accordingly, it is possible greatly to enhance the ease of use when it is not known upon which DMS 2 the desired contents is stored.

  • Patent number: 7979511
Abstract: A network system in which a client device is connected to a server via a LAN. A CPU in the client device obtains date data of respective still picture files from the respective servers and generates representative thumbnail picture. Subsequently, the CPU in the client device generates a directory of a still picture taken on each photographing date, associates the directory with the thumbnail picture of the representative picture of each photographing date, and then displays a list of the representative thumbnail pictures. When a user selects the representative thumbnail picture which is taken on a date identical with a desired still picture from the respective thumbnail pictures, the CPU in the client device obtains all still pictures which are to be stored in the directory associated with the selected representative thumbnail picture from a storage medium in the server, and then generates thumbnail pictures of the still pictures.

  • Publication number: 20110096822
Abstract: A network player is connected to a server, in which a contents data having a bit rate parameter is recorded, via a network. The network player stores the contents data which is currently received from the server in a buffer memory, measures a data transfer rate of the currently received contents data based on an increase and decrease of the data amount stored in the buffer memory, and repeats the measurement until a predetermined period of time passes. After the predetermined period of time, the network player determines the current data transfer rate by calculating an average value of the plural data transfer rates measured in the predetermined period of time. Then, the network player informs that the data transfer rate is not fast enough by turning on a red lamp when the current data transfer rate is slower than the bit rate.

  • Patent number: 7817898
Abstract: An HDD recorder connected to a DV camcorder via an IEEE 1394 serial bus cable comprises hard disks and a microprocessor having a function that when the HDD recorder is connected to the DV camcorder while a list display screen with a list of various recorded video files is displayed on a monitor, the microprocessor implements a process to edit the list display screen in a manner that based on source device-identifying information, and from the various recorded video files stored on the hard disks, the microprocessor extracts only the recorded video files dubbed from the DV camcorder, and displays the thus extracted recorded video files on the list display screen. This makes it possible for the HDD recorder to significantly reduce time and labor required to find, from the stored various recorded video files, a recorded video file dubbed from the DV camcorder.

  • Patent number: 7729596
Abstract: By packet speed setting device, setting is made so as to send out a cycle start packet at predetermined-times speed when image data is transferred from a DV apparatus to a DVD recorder, and by predetermined-times speed dubbing function determination device, it is determined whether or not the DV apparatus has a predetermined-times speed dubbing function when image data recorded on the DV apparatus is dubbed on the DVD recorder at predetermined-times speed. By notification device, the DV apparatus is notified to perform predetermined-times speed dubbing from the DVD recorder in the case of having the predetermined-times speed dubbing function, and by predetermined-times speed dubbing start device, predetermined-times speed dubbing is started by controlling components of the DV apparatus and the DVD recorder related to the predetermined-times speed dubbing by the notification.

  • Publication number: 20090158207
Abstract: A content reproducing device comprises a display unit and a speaker for reproducing a content together with a remote control to command the operation of the content reproducing device. The remote control has a video button operated to display a content list of reproducible video contents. When the video button of the remote control is pressed, the content reproducing device displays a content list of reproducible video contents on the display unit. When a content selection operation is performed by a user using the remote control to select an arbitrary content from the content list, the content reproducing device reproduces the selected content by the display unit and the speaker. The content reproducing device can find and reproduce a target content with fewer operations, so that it is easier to use it.

  • Publication number: 20070200952
Abstract: A television receiver comprising: a memory that stores messages including messages input through a remote control and messages received via a network interface; and a microcontroller that determines whether or not there is a message recorded in the memory. When a user presses a power button to power off the television receiver, the microcontroller determines whether or not a message that has yet to be displayed is recorded in the memory. When it is determined that there is a yet-to-be-displayed message recorded in the memory, the microcontroller displays the message on a display. Subsequently, when a user presses an acknowledge button, the microcontroller deletes the message displayed on the display from the memory.

  • Publication number: 20070043776
Abstract: A controller to be connected via an IEEE 1394 serial bus to two or more hard disk recorders. When a user selects an attribute of program files to be deleted by using an operation unit, a microprocessor in the controller searches for program files corresponding to the attribute, which is selected by the user via the operation unit, among program files stored in any of the hard disk recorders. When program files corresponding to the selected attribute are found as a result of the search, the microprocessor creates a list of the program files corresponding to the selected attribute based on the result of the search. Then, the microprocessor sends a control command to delete each of the program files in the list from a hard disk recorder on which the each program file is stored via an IEEE 1394 interface to the hard disk recorder. Accordingly, the program files in the list are deleted from the hard disk recorders on which the program files are stored.

  • Patent number: 7096284
Abstract: The processor of a receiving device does not execute acquisition and release of resources of a band and a channel for the isochronous data transfer every time the processor receives data from the sending device by isochronous transfer, but executes the acquisition of the resources of the band and the channel for the isochronous data transfer via the bus and an I/F board only when the completion of a bus reset is detected and holds the resources until the next bus reset is caused. By this processing, the receiving device can consistently secure the resources necessary for the isochronous data transfer to the sending device so long as the resources acquisition is successfully achieved when the bus reset is completed.

  • Patent number: 7089337
Abstract: In the case where a rewind or fast-forward button is clicked after a playback button is clicked, a CPU on controller side sets a reproduction flag bit to “on” upon receipt of a response frame from a DV camcorder indicating that the playback command is normally accepted, without checking whether the DV camcorder is during playback operation or not, and determines what kind of control command should be sent to the DV camcorder based on the reproduction flag bit and the clicked button. The controller can determine the control command without waiting for the response to an inquiry about whether the DV camcorder is during playback operation or not, thus quickly sending a rewind playback or fast-forward playback command to the DV camcorder.
