  • Publication number: 20090283371
Abstract: A combined vehicle brake including a hydraulically actuated service brake and an electromechanically actuated parking brake device, a hydraulic operating pressure chamber in a brake housing being defined by a brake piston, which for performing service braking actions can be acted upon by hydraulic pressure fluid, so that the brake piston can be actuated along a piston longitudinal axis in order to produce a braking action, and the parking brake device acting on the brake piston by way of a transmission that translates the rotary motion of an electromechanical actuator into a translational motion and actuates the brake piston to perform parking brake actions and to keep it in the actuated position. Also disclosed is a transmission for translating a rotary motion into a translational motion by way of a screw spindle and a spindle nut, which are in contact with one another by way of multiple rolling elements.

  • Patent number: 7343767
Abstract: A roller tool is used within a sheet deformation facility for the linear deformation of sheet metal. The roller tool comprises a press roller having a shaft and a roller body rolling around the same as well as a counterbody. The press roller and the counterbody can be jointly moved in a linear manner relative to a sheet positioned between them that is to be processed for performing the sheet metal deformation. The roller body has a plurality of roller discs which are adjacent to each other, which together form the section of the roller body that can be placed onto the sheet to be processed and which can rotate around the shaft independently of each other. The sheet deformation facility is furthermore provided with a roller tool support and a drive for pivoting the roller tool support around an axis perpendicular to the sheet that is to be processed.

  • Patent number: 7345259
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a circuit arrangement for preventing overheating of a cooking appliance. The arrangement includes a power circuit with a heating element and a control circuit with a coupling switch. The control circuit and the power circuit are coupled by the coupling switch. The arrangement further includes a safety switch to the control circuit. The coupling switch interrupts a power supply to the power circuit to the heating element when a limiting temperature in the cooking appliance is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 7213688
Abstract: A disc brake for a motor vehicle having at least two axially stationary friction rings being connected to a rotatable hub. The disc brake comprises several brake pads cooperating with the associated friction rings during a braking operation. A favorable structural overall design of the disc brake is achieved by a brake caliper straddling all friction rings and the associated brake pads and including a first actuating device in a brake caliper portion that extends axially beside the friction rings, and a second actuating device that is arranged between two friction rings and acting axially on both sides. Said actuating device acts on the brake pads arranged between two friction rings and is arranged so as to be displaceable relative to the brake caliper.

  • Patent number: 7080886
Abstract: A headrest (1) for a seat (3), preferably a passenger seat, particularly an air passenger seat, includes at least one tilt adjusting device (27) and one height adjustment device (12) for adjusting the tilt or the height of the headrest (1) relative to the backrest (2) of the seat (3) on which the headrest (1) can be placed. A swiveling axis (28) for tilt adjustment of the headrest (1) is on guiding part (14), while pointing away from the headrest. The guiding part displaceably interacts with a longitudinal guide (13) and, together with this longitudinal guide, is part of the height adjusting device (12). The backrest structure can have a highly simplified design due to the longitudinal guide (13) being an integral part of the headrest (1) and the swiveling axis (28) of the guiding part (14) being fixed relative to the backrest (2), and since the frame of the backrest does not require any reinforcing structures or guide rails for accommodating a headrest.

  • Patent number: 6877907
Abstract: An arrangement of several ferrules for optical waveguides having at least one connection section, two ferrules respectively mutually connected by way of a connection section or mutually connected by way of a belt. In an advantageous embodiment, the ferrules are connected in one piece with the belt. In a process for producing a belt having plastic ferrules, the following process steps are implemented: Injection-molding a first plastic ferrule, conveying the finished plastic ferrule by a defined distance, and injection-molding a second plastic ferrule, so that it is connected with the first plastic ferrule. The process may further include belt segments which are injection-molded with the plastic ferrules.

  • Patent number: 6808234
Abstract: The invention relates to a seat, especially a vehicle seat, and preferably an air passenger seat, comprising a seat element and a seat element carrier (12), a backrest (10) which can be adjusted in terms of the incline thereof, and at least one armrest (14), said armrest being pivotably joined to the backrest (10). The armrest (14) is continuously moved with the increasing or decreasing incline of the backrest (10) by means of an adjustment mechanism (20), said adjustment mechanism (20) for the armrest (14) comprising at least four articulation points (22, 24, 26, 28). A parallelogram articulation of the armrest is thus achieved by which means said armrest can lower itself. The aim of the invention is to be able to practically bring the backrest into a horizontal position in which the so-called parallelogram geometrically follows a fictitious line in an average incline position of the backrest, the four articulation points of the parallelogram lying on one line.
