  • Patent number: 10124401
Abstract: The invention describes a feeder insert (2, 2?, 2?, 2??, 2IV) for use for the casting of metals in vertically separable casting molds, having a first shaped element (8, 8?, 8?, 8??, 8IV) and a second shaped element (10) which (i) are moveable telescopically relative to one another, (ii) delimit a feeder cavity (30) for receiving liquid metal, and (iii) are designed for being position by means of a centring pin (20, 22?) that can be positioned along a centring axis (28), wherein the first shaped element (8, 8?, 8?, 8??, 8IV) has a passage opening (18) for the liquid metal, and wherein the feeder cavity (30) is designed such that, in the case of horizontal arrangement of the centring axis (28), a predominant volume fraction of the feeder cavity (30) can be positioned above the centring axis.

  • Publication number: 20090301684
Abstract: A feeder element for use in casting molds, includes a first end for placing on a mold model and an opposing second end for connecting to or for carrying an upper feeder part. The feeder element has a passage extending from the first to the second end, wherein the feeder element is two-part or multi-part including a tube-like element which forms the first end of the feeder element; an adapter element with an opening into which the tube-like element is inserted so that it is connected with frictional engagement to the adapter element. The adapter element includes one or more path limiters to limit the insertion path of the tube-element, which are set up so that the outer face of the edge of the tube-like element opposing the first end, with insertion to the maximum extent within the adapter element, is present with its entire periphery, or portions thereof, exposed.

  • Patent number: 4138310
Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of homo- and co-polymers of vinyl chloride are freed of residual monomer in a continuous manner by mixing the dispersion with steam in a first flow pipe maintained at reduced pressure; degasifying the mixture to a first degasification vessel maintained at a lower pressure; again mixing the degassed mixture with steam in a second flow pipe, also maintained at reduced pressure and having fluid flow diverting means therein; and then again degasifying the mixture in a second degasification vessel maintained at a lower pressure than the second flow pipe.

  • Patent number: 4020032
Abstract: A process for removing residual monomer from an emulsifier-containing aqueous dispersion of a solid vinyl chloride polymer having a surface tension of less than 60 dyne/cm., which comprises continuously admixing the polymer dispersion with steam in a fluid flow pipe under a pressure of 150-600 torr at a flow velocity of 1-20 m./sec., and passing said admixture at an exit velocity of 30-100 m./sec. horizontally into and along the walls of a degasification tank having a pressure 30-200 torr lower than the pressure in said flow pipe to evaporate residual monomer.
