  • Patent number: 5911436
Abstract: A gas bag for a vehicular occupant restraint system comprises a wall defining an interior space of the gas bag intended to be filled with pressurized gas. A plurality of curved nicks is provided in the wall of the gas bag. Each of the curved nicks determines an emission orifice for the pressurized gas.

  • Patent number: 5899493
Abstract: A gas bag for a vehicle occupant restraining system, which is adapted to be unfolded from a folded state into a deployed state by gases led into the interior of the gas bag, comprises at least one fabric part having edges which are connected together along at least a part of their length by a seam. This seam is formed by a plurality of stitches and at least one thread. The length of the stitches and the tension of the thread is so set that, in the deployed state of the gas bag, a plurality of discharge openings are formed between respectively adjacent stitches between two edges sewn together. A controlled discharge of the gases takes place through the discharge openings.

  • Patent number: 5893578
Abstract: A gas bag module for a vehicle occupant restraining system comprises a gas generator and a gas bag having an inflation opening formed in a wall of the gas bag and having an interior delimited by the wall. The gas bag is able to be unfolded from a folded state into a deployed state by means of gas under pressure provided by the gas generator and led into the interior of the gas bag through the inflation opening. The gas bag module comprises at least one guard flap arranged in the interior of the gas bag between the inflation opening and a portion of the wall opposite the inflation opening. The at least one guard flap protects the wall of the gas bag against the gas under pressure entering the interior of the gas bag.

  • Patent number: 5184843
Abstract: A gas bag is attached to an accommodating housing of a gas bag restraining system for vehicles on the front passenger side thereof. The gas bag is provided along the edge of its rectangular inflation opening with a sewn-in reinforcing element forming a bead. The edge provided with the reinforcing element is fixed to the accommodating housing with an interference fit by means of a profile element. The attachment provides high mechanical strength along with an improved gas tightness.

  • Patent number: 4373561
Abstract: A device for draining and collecting oil from the sump of a motor comprising a drain spigot and a hose, which are connected to a vessel, and a drain plug having a passage in it, which is closed by a membrane. The membrane is part of a plug-like plastic insert, which can be replaced after rupture of the membrane by the drain spigot. The diameter of the passage and the insert are chosen to fit for all sizes of oil draining plugs of typical motor cars.

  • Patent number: 4269237
Abstract: A device for draining and collecting sump oil from a motor vehicle has a drain plug which is closed by a ball valve or rupturable membrane. Oil is drained from the sump by inserting a drain spigot into the plug body to open the valve, or to rupture the membrane, so that oil drains through a hose connected to the spigot into a shallow vessel which may be located beneath the vehicle. The vessel may be pyramid shaped or may, for example, be U-shaped so as to afford a clear working space beneath the sump. Two of the pyramid-shaped vessels may be held together base-to-base, one vessel being filled with fresh oil for sump replenishment.
