  • Publication number: 20070163699
Abstract: In an improved process for processing a film web, the film web is cut in the longitudinal direction, forming a marginal strip and a remaining film web with a width reduced by the width of the marginal strip. The marginal strip is transferred to a movable film-drafting device on which is arranged a gripper. The remaining film web is separated entirely or partially by cutting and also possibly by tearing. The film-drafting device is moved along one side of a roller arrangement, threading the film web into the roller arrangement. The film-drafting device is moved along one side of a winding device comprising at least one winding roller up to a release or end position. The film-drafting device is opened at the end position to release the marginal strip.

  • Patent number: 6372174
Abstract: The invention concerns an improved method of heating or tempering foils and an associated device including an arrangement for measuring the temperature, based on the following features: a separate arrangement is provided for heating the foil edges; the foil edge heating arrangement comprises an infrared radiator device (21) and a hot air heating device (29); and the infrared radiator device (21) and the hot air heating device (29) can be controlled or set at different heating output values.

  • Patent number: 5996196
Abstract: An improved apparatus for adapting speed, in particular for nippers (1) which can be made to travel along a rail arrangement (3), is distinguished by the following featuresa rotating and electrically conductive eddy-current body (17), preferably designed in the form of an eddy-current wheel or an eddy-current cylinder, is provided, the guide rail arrangement (3) runs at least over and away from a partial region of the eddy-current body (17) with a tangential component,on the carriages (1) which can be made to travel along the guide rail arrangement (3) there is provided or can be excited at least one magnet (7a, 7b), which is arranged on the side facing the eddy-current body (17) and, in the region of the eddy-current body (17), can be moved over and away from the eddy-current body (17), with an air gap being formed.

  • Patent number: 5781974
Abstract: A magnetic tenter lever actuating device includes a coupling rail, preferably designed in the form of a pole shoe rail (21), by means of which the end of a tenter lever (3) can be pivoted deliberately from its open into its closed position and vice versa by means of a coupling region (29) formed at the end.

  • Patent number: 5749131
Abstract: An improved transport device for a moving material web, in particular a stretching system for plastic film webs which is in particular suitable for high circulating speeds, is distinguished by the fact that a guide rail system (3) comprising at least one guide rail (3', 3") and along which tenter elements (1) can be moved by means of a linear motor drive (5), is integrally incorporated in the relevant linear motor (5', 5"). The respective tenter element (1) is supported with respect to the guide rail system (3) by means of a sliding bearing or a combined sliding and roller bearing.

  • Patent number: 5737812
Abstract: An improved transport device for a moving material web, in particular a stretching system for plastic film webs, comprises tenter elements (1) which can be moved along a guide rail system (3) on both sides of the material web (11). In this case, on both sides of the moving material web (11), a linear motor (5', 5") and a guide rail (3', 3") are provided, preferably in each case at least above and below the moving material web (11). The sequence of the guide rails located above, in relation to the linear motor, is opposite with respect to the moving material web, to the linear motors located below and the guide rail located below. In an alternative preferred embodiment, a maximum vertical and a maximum horizontal distance (a, b) are provided between a point of intersection (S) at the clamping point of the material web (11), which distance is selected such that the tenter mounting is stressed as little as possible.

  • Patent number: 5397514
Abstract: In prior art processes of this kind the actual thickness of the extrudate is measured, compared with a reference thickness and the setting regions of an extrusion plant are controlled dependent upon the degree of difference. In order nevertheless to improve the quality of the extrudate in relation to the desired reference thickness, according to the invention the evolution strategy process is used. An increase in the convergence rate can also be attained by taking into account strategy parameters which can be deterministically or stochastically changed, whereby mixing including fixedly settable strategy parameters is also possible. In particular, knowledge of the process can be involved as qualitative process partial knowledge.
