Abstract: An arrangement for monitoring a two-wire bus line for serial transmission of digital data includes a bus subscriber receiving circuit coupled to the two-wire line and including three comparators each having two inputs and an output for producing a logical output signal in dependence of signals at the two inputs. A signal line voltage on each wire of the two-wire bus line is applied, respectively, to the two inputs of a first one of the comparators and one of the two signal line voltages, an auxiliary voltage is applied, respectively, to the two inputs of a second one of the comparators and the other of the two signal line voltages and an auxiliary voltage being applied, respectively, to the two inputs of a third one of the comparators.

Abstract: A data communication system, particularly for motor vehicles, includes a bus system with transmission lines which connect terminal devices to a common node. A protective circuit is connected between the transmission lines and a reference potential such as ground. If the ground connection of one of the terminal devices becomes detached, this protective circuit allows communication among the remaining terminal devices. The protective circuit is simultaneously secured against destruction in case of a short circuit.

Abstract: A cable arrangement with two pairs of conductors for two separate circuits, one conductor of a pair is split into two partial conductors. Neutralization, i.e., capacitive and inductive uncoupling of the two circuits is possible by symmetrical arrangement of the conductors.

Abstract: A concentric three-conductor cable includes an inner conductor and outer conductors formed of braided strands, and insulating material separating the outer conductors from each other and from the inner conductor, each the other conductors being formed of a plurality of layers and the d-c resistance of the outer conductors being several times smaller than the d-c resistance of said inner conductor.
