  • Publication number: 20130034208
Abstract: A device and method for using X-rays to highlight soft-tissue parts in medical imaging are provided. The device may be implemented in radiotherapy equipment or used in radiotherapy. A control of the radiation dose needed for the therapy may involve phase-contrast imaging using X-rays to highlight soft-tissue parts. The result of the imaging by highlighting soft-tissue parts can be used for real-time and non-real-time planning of therapy and for adapting the treatment plan or the radiation dose. The radiation dose control may include anatomical imaging for locating tumours before, during and after irradiation and/or real-time adaptation of the treatment plan based on imaging that highlights soft-tissue parts. The positioning and arrangement of the combination of X-ray sources and detector in such a radiotherapy apparatus and of an accelerator may be independent of one another. The accelerator makes it possible to cover the entire body of the patient with X-rays.

  • Publication number: 20080120794
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for creating patterns on dyed materials (1), comprising the following steps: a continuous length of a dyed material (1) of a predetermined width is transported on a support element (2) in a machine direction with a selected web speed; at least one jet distributor is provided above the dyed material (1) that is transported on the support element (2), said distributor producing columns or bars of fluid jets (4), which are produced with a selected distributor pressure and spray onto the opposing face of the dyed material (1) that is transported on the support element (2); the fluid jets (4) strike the opposing face of the dyed material (1) whilst the latter is transported on the support element (2) in the direction of the machine; the fluid jets (4) traverse the defined openings (6) of a template (5) before striking the opposing face of the dyed material (1).

  • Publication number: 20070051305
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a liquid layer to a passing web has a lower flow surface having a lower edge juxtaposed with the web and a first reservoir having an angled downstream surface having an upper edge forming at an upper edge of the lower flow surface a first overflow. A upper flow surface extends upward from adjacent the first overflow, and a second reservoir has an angled downstream surface extending upward to an upper edge forming at an upper edge of the upper flow surface a second overflow. Respective supplies feed liquid to the reservoirs so that the liquid rises therein and flows up the respective downstream surfaces, over the respective overflows, and down the respective flow surfaces, merging on the lower flow surface.
