  • Patent number: 7645833
Abstract: Novel crosslinkable compositions based on elastomers, at least one of which has carboxyl and/or carboxylate groups, are provided, these crosslinkable compositions containing special unsaturated organic salts of metal ions and a crosslinking system which acts as a free radical donor. Crosslinked elastomers which have excellent physical properties are obtainable therefrom. The novel crosslinkable compositions have a wide range of uses.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 2006
Date of Patent: January 12, 2010
    Assignee: LANXESS Deutschland GmbH
Inventors: Dirk Achten, Claus Wrana, Christopher Ong, Martin Mezger, Hans Magg, Jürgen Ismeier, Hans-Rafael Winkelbach

  • Publication number: 20080073815
Abstract: A vulcanizable composition based on ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers is prepared with vinyl acetate content of at least 45% by weight, based on the copolymer, and these can be crosslinked in the absence of peroxides. These mixtures comprise at least one organotin catalyst and a specific crosslinking agent. A process is moreover described for preparation of these vulcanizable compositions, and their use is described for production of products with elastomeric properties.

  • Patent number: 7291758
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of highly reactive polyisobutenes with a content of terminal vinylidene groupings of greater than 80 mol % and an average molecular weight of 500 to 10,000 Dalton by cationic polymerization of isobutene or of isobutene and monomers copolymerizable with isobutene in the presence of solvent-stabilized transition metal complexes with weakly coordinated anions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 4, 2006
Date of Patent: November 6, 2007
    Assignee: Basf Aktiengesellschaft
