  • Patent number: 5615861
Abstract: A throttle device having a throttle-flap connection piece which is produced from plastic. For an efficient production of the throttle-flap connection piece form plastic in the plastic injection-molding technique, it is necessary to avoid undesirable shrinkage in the pivoting region of the throttle flap and to seal off the bearing arrangements against penetrating plastic during the injection operation. The throttle device includes an annular insertion part which is arranged in the pivoting region of the throttle flap and which, connected to the bearing arrangements is embedded into the throttle-flap connection piece made form plastic, in order to protect the bearing arrangement against penetrating plastic. The injected-round insertion part is suitable for throttle devices which are made from plastic and which are provided for mixture-compressing spark-ignition or air-compressing auto-ignition internal-combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 5575256
Abstract: A throttle-valve housing of plastic has a metal insert which achieves dimensional stability in the region of the throttle valve. The throttle-valve housing is formed of plastic with a cavity bounded by an inner wall surface. In the wall there is arranged a metal insert which is covered on all sides by the plastic material and effects a stabilization of the plastic material, so that distorting, shrinking or the like is prevented and dimensional accuracy of the inner wall surface is ensured. The novel throttle-valve housing is simple to produce and has a high dimensional stability in spite of being formed from plastic material. The throttle-valve housing is suitable for internal-combustion engines of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5162036
Abstract: A continuous web of paper is subdivided into a series of discrete webs of finite length, and successive discrete webs of the series are provided with looped sections in zig-zag formation. Successive discrete webs of the series are moved forwardly and away from the next-following webs of the series while advancing toward a stacking station to thus establish between successive discrete webs gaps of predetermined width. The making of gaps involves advancing the discrete webs with the upper reaches of three parallel foraminous endless belt conveyors which attract the webs and move them toward the stacking station. The median belt conveyor is accelerated when it is approached by the trailing end of a discrete web and then advances the trailing end at a speed exceeding the speed of the other conveyors and of the leader of the next-following discrete web.

  • Patent number: 5106069
Abstract: Apparatus for positioning covers on top of stacks of paper sheets has a transporting unit which advances a series of successive stacks along a first horizontal path and discrete covers along a second horizontal path above and adjacent the first path. The covers are accelerated by advancing along a downwardly sloping portion of the second path immediately ahead of two vertical rotary members which temporarily intercept an oncoming cover until the corresponding stack catches up with the intercepted cover. The lower portion of the stack then moves the rotary members apart to enable the stack and the cover thereon to advance along the first path beyond the rotary members. Each rotary member is mounted on a spring-biased or otherwise biased lever which is pivotable about a vertical axis.

  • Patent number: 4854932
Abstract: A continuous running paper web is folded in zig-zag formation at a stacking station to form a pile of superimposed panels which are joined to each other by weakened fold lines. A stack containing a preselected number of superimposed panels at the bottom of the pile is moved laterally away from the stacking station so that the topmost panel of the stack or the lowermost panel of the remainder of the pile is unfolded, and the web is broken between such panels by tearing it along a weakened fold line or by severing it from one marginal portion to the other marginal portion along a weakened fold line or across one of the panels. The part or parts which move the stack from the stacking station can include or constitute the web breaking device. The remainder of the pile is supported from below during removal of the stack from the stacking station.

  • Patent number: 4842573
Abstract: Apparatus for stacking panels of a running web in zig-zag formation by folding the web along transversely extending weakened fold lines has a vertically movable table which supports successive growing stacks at a stacking station and has a concave or convex upper side serving to impart to the panels above it a concavo-convex shape. The fold lines between the panels of the growing stack are pushed downwardly and thereby caused to assume an arcuate shape by a set of rotary folding fingers and by a conveyor which cooperates with a suction chamber and pulls the adjacent fold lines of the growing stack downwardly toward the upper side of the table. The concavo-convex panels of the growing stack are stiffer than plane panels and ensure that the growing stacks resemble parallelepipeds with neighboring sides disposed at right angles to each other and without sagging of panels between the corresponding fold lines.

  • Patent number: 4694808
Abstract: A method and a fuel injection system for supplying fuel to a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine having externally supplied ignition is proposed. The fuel injection system includes metering valves, downstream of which regulating valves are disposed and at one side of which the fuel pressure downstream of the metering valves prevails and on the other side of which the fuel pressure in a control pressure line prevails. The control pressure line communicates with the fuel supply line and is limited by a control throttle and a return-flow throttle; from it, a branch line leads to an electromagnetic supplementary injection valve, by way of which further fuel, in addition to the fuel injected via injection valves, can be injected. The triggering of the supplementary injection valve can be effected by an electronic control unit for injecting fuel during cold starting of the engine or in the presence of a measurement signal characterizing an acceleration of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4693111
Abstract: A sensor is disclosed for detecting the position of a movable part in a motor vehicle with a common drive for several position pickups and several paths. The individual paths are traversed at least partly consecutively over the total range so that a position signal with different resolution depending on the path can be made available. This is accomplished by means of individual paths corresponding to different places in the total range. The paths are in the form of resistance paths. The signals picked up can then be associated with electrically different paths for further processing. Paths having the same resolution are also possible.

  • Patent number: 4630578
Abstract: An apparatus is proposed which serves to control the position of a throttle device disposed in the intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a lever, which is joined to a shaft of the throttle device and has both a stop screw arranged to cooperate with a stop and an adjusting screw arranged to cooperate with a feeler pin. The feeler pin traces the position of a control body provided with a cam track and the control body can be displaced to a variable extent in a guide bore by means of an expansion element and thereby bring about a variably large rotation of the throttle device and hence a variably large opening of the cross section for the aspirated air during engine idling in the warm-up phase.

  • Patent number: 4530329
Abstract: A fuel injection system which serves to supply fuel to an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system includes a metering and quantity distribution valve with regulating valves connected at the output side, which valves can be influenced by the fuel pressure in a differential pressure control line. Communicating with a fuel supply line is a fuel reservoir, which has a flexible diaphragm which is displaceable by the fuel pressure counter to a reservoir spring in a spring chamber. Shortly before the end of the movement of the flexible diaphragm into the spring chamber, a spring plate resting on the flexible diaphragm opens a sealing valve via a stem. The sealing valve rests on the mouth of an outflow line, which leads via a control throttle to the differential pressure control line.
