  • Publication number: 20060102109
Abstract: The invention relates to an air control system in the front end of a motor vehicle with openings in a front wall defining the front end, through which cooling air flows into a motor compartment. Air ducts (6, 10, 11, 18) are provided which feed the cooling air into athe motor compartment, substantially against the direction of travel and which are formed by boundary walls (7, 19) running approximately parallel to the direction of the air flow. It is therefore the task of the invention that an air guidance is created in the front end of a motor vehicle while assuring a low-loss flow, in which the assembly is substantially simplified. According to the invention, the boundary walls (17, 19) are integrated into a body panel (1) which extends appromately across the direction of air flow in the motor compartment.

  • Patent number: 6047730
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the drive system for double seat valves comprising two individually movable closure members which, in addition to the open position, can each be individually moved into a partial open position. The object of the invention is to construct a device which is easy to assemble and is space-saving and which should be able to provide externally adjustable, partial lift stops for both closure members. Said object is attained in that a piston (107) of a first individual adjustment device (1b) for the partial open position (T1) of the independently driven closure member (4) is displaceably arranged, to form a seal, externally in a drive housing (100) of the drive device (1), and a piston (108) of a second individual adjustment device (1c) for the partial open position (T2) of the dependently driven closure member (5) is displaceably arranged, to form a seal, externally in a cylindrical recess (107a) of the piston (107), which recess faces a main adjustment device (1a).

  • Patent number: 5732727
Abstract: A process is disclosed for switching without leaks a double seat valve comprising radial sealing elements shaped in a slide-shaped closure member (3). In order to ensure leakfree switching, in a first embodiment of the process, radial sealing elements (1, 1*) are guided and remain sealed in a cylindrical valve seat surface (5) while the valve is opened. Sealing elements (2, 2*) provided in a second closure member (4) sealingly engage an end section (E) of the radial sealing elements (1, 1*) and the end section (E) is sealing surrounded by the sealing means (2) when the valve is further opened and when it reaches its open position.

  • Patent number: 5086592
Abstract: A grinding tool adapted to be mounted on an end of an arbor and rotated thereby about an axis in contact with a workpiece is unitarily formed with a head and a foot. The head has a frustoconical front end face centered on the axis, turned away from the arbor, and tapering away from the arbor. It also has a frustoconical back face centered on the axis, turned toward the arbor, meeting the front face at an outer circular edge centered on the axis, tapering toward the arbor, and forming with the front face an acute angle. The foot has a frustoconical outer surface centered on the axis, meeting the back face at a front inner circular edge centered on the axis, tapering toward the front edge, and forming a right angle with the back face. The front and back faces of the head meet at the outer edge at an angle of about 45.degree..

  • Patent number: 4671520
Abstract: It has been hitherto customary durig machining of workpiece, such a grinding of gear wheels, to slip a roller cage over the gear wheel. The chuck jaws of the chuck then hold the workpiece by way of the rollers in a roller cage. The time concuming operation is made superfluous by a holding ring which is mounted in the chuck. The holding ring has openings near the chuck jaws, and also has in this region fixedly installed roller-cage-type segments. Input guides at the holding ring allow quick, safe and secure exchange of the workpieces.

  • Patent number: 4497138
Abstract: A grinding apparatus comprises a base, a chuck on the base for supporting a workpiece for rotation about an axis, a first on the base to one axial side of the chuck for grinding an internal surface of the workpiece in the chuck, a second grinder on the base for grinding an external surface of the workpiece in the chuck, and fasteners for retaining the grinders releasably on the base adjacent the chuck. Thus both axial sides of the workpiece remain exposed for machining both ends of the workpiece simultaneously. The chuck is of the centerless type which engages the workpiece externally on its outer diameter between its ends, thereby leaving these ends free for grinding.

  • Patent number: 4075792
Abstract: A rotary machine tool, such as a grinding wheel, is mounted on a movable support serving to advance the tool toward a workpiece, such as a pipe to be severed thereby. The tool is driven by an electric motor whose operating current is measured by a sensor controlling the fluid supply to a hydraulic servomotor which is linked with the support. When the advance is too rapid, the resulting rise in load resistance increases the operating current and causes a throttling of the fluid pressure, the rate of advance being thus optimized in conformity with the shape and/or composition of the workpiece.
