  • Patent number: 7815360
Abstract: A material processing plant comprises two screw-type extruding machines (1, 2) which are interconnected by means of a link (29). The link (29) is movable from a position of connection into an open position of release of the casing bores (12). Provision is further made for a mover (38) which acts on the link (29) for implementation of the motion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 17, 2004
Date of Patent: October 19, 2010
    Assignee: Coperion GmbH
    Inventors: Rainer Munz, Jürgen Strecker
  • Patent number: 7607817
Abstract: An extruder with a housing comprising parallel, partially inter-engaging bores and screws disposed therein is used when applying a method of feeding powdery bulk materials into such an extruder. A solid transport of powdery bulk material takes place in an inlet zone disposed downstream of a feed opening wherein said inlet zone is partially filled. The inlet zone is provided with at least one gas-permeable wall portion wherein a layer of bulk material is created on said wall portion, thereby preventing bulk material from passing through, The gas-permeable wall portion is connected to a vacuum source and to a pressure gas source. Furthermore, the gas-permeable wall portion has an inner wall which is set back with respect to the wall of the bores, thereby forming a gap with a partially annular cross section wherein a layer of the bulk material is formed in the gap.

  • Patent number: 7264460
Abstract: A material processing plant comprises a first screw-type extruding machine (1) and a second screw-type extruding machine (2) which is disposed downstream thereof. Between the two screw-type extruding machines (1, 2), provision is made for a delivery zone (28) where a delivery orifice is provided, extending radially of the axes (12a, 13a) of the casing bores (12, 13) of the first screw-type extruding machine (1) and being directed towards the second screw-type extruding machine (2). The at least one casing bore (12, 13) of the first screw-type extruding machine (1) is lockable in the direction of its axis (12a, 13a) by means of a sealing element.
