    Abstract: In a process of making artificial teeth horizontal or other contour lines are generated on the ground tooth stump and on adjacent surfaces, said lines are detected by optoelectronic means, the data which have thus been acquired are used to compute the three-dimensional shapes of the tooth stump and of the required artificial tooth, and an artificial tooth having the shape which has thus been determined is then made by processes known per se.
