  • Patent number: 8077156
Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program product are provided for differentiating between and transmitting different levels of information associated with an object or file depending upon a number of tactile inputs detected. In particular, a user can define a number of levels (e.g., of privacy, of detail, etc.) associated with items of information making up objects or files stored on his or her device. The user can then indicate which level of information (i.e., which items of information of the object or file) he or she would like to transmit by using a different number of fingers (or other selection devices) to select the object or file. The electronic device may, in response, determine the number of fingers (or other selection devices) used and then transmit only the corresponding portions (e.g., items of information) of the selected object or file.

  • Publication number: 20090164207
Abstract: In one aspect of the exemplary embodiments of this invention an apparatus includes a user interface that contains a plurality of input modalities and a plurality of output modalities, and a data processor coupled with the user interface and configurable to present a user with a content item that includes a plurality of attributes. In response to user input that data processor is operable to partition at least some of the attributes into a plurality of presentation tokens, where an individual presentation token comprises at least one attribute. The data processor is further configurable to respond to further user input to define one of the plurality of input modalities to generate a trigger condition for individual ones of the presentation tokens, where generation of a trigger condition results in an associated presentation token being made manifest to the user.

  • Patent number: 7051732
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a respiratory helmet. The helmet is designed to provide protection to a user's cranium area. The helmet also has a visor designed to provide protection to the user's face area, an air intake system, and a parallel elliptical rail system. The visor can be positioned on the helmet, in front of the user's face area, and any position in between. The area between the visor, when the visor is positioned in front of the user's face area and the face area is called the breathing zone. The visor has at least two wheels, a top side and a bottom side wherein the bottom side is positioned closer to the user's chin when the visor is positioned in front of the user's face. The air intake system has an intake unit that receives a gaseous medium from a gaseous medium supply system or the ambient air into the helmet, and the intake unit directs the gaseous medium toward the breathing zone. The parallel elliptical rail system allows the visor to move in an elliptical motion.
