  • Patent number: 7582216
Abstract: A water treatment system having a system inlet to receive a fluid flow, a treatment chamber, a first system outlet, and a second system outlet. The treatment chamber has an inlet in communication with the system inlet and an outlet in communication with the first system outlet, and is adapted to remove one or more contaminants from the fluid flow. The second system outlet is separated from the system inlet by a weir that prevents the fluid from passing into the second system outlet when the fluid is below a predetermined height, and allow at least a portion of the fluid to pass into the second system outlet without passing through the treatment chamber when the fluid is above a predetermined height. The second system outlet is isolated from the first system outlet such that fluid passing through the first system outlet can not impinge upon the treatment chamber outlet.
