  • Patent number: 8331695
Abstract: A method of updating parameters for pixels associated with a background estimation portion of a video frame is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a group of pixels of an incoming data stream associated with the video frame, each pixel of the group of pixels being characterized by a plurality of parameters; comparing, for each pixel of the group of pixels, the plurality of parameters for a pixel with the plurality of parameters for adjacent pixels; determining, for each pixel of the group of pixels, whether the parameters are similar to the parameters of an adjacent pixel; identifying a region of the group of pixels having similar parameters; and updating parameters for all pixels associated with the region with a single set of parameters.

  • Patent number: 8077219
Abstract: A method of providing intensity correction for a video is disclosed. The method may comprise evaluating a portion of a frame of the video; determining a difference in intensity of a current block of the frame with the corresponding block of the previous frame; correcting all blocks of the frame with local intensity correction if a first set of parameters is met; and correcting the current block of the frame with both global intensity correction and local intensity correction if the first set of parameters is not met. An integrated circuit having a circuit for providing intensity correction for a video is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7535387
Abstract: An entropy encoder module (350) is configured to completely perform normalization of each binary input in a single clock cycle for Context Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC). Outstanding bits are separated out from other bits of a portion of a frame for Context Adaptive Binary-Arithmetic Coding (CABAC). The outstanding bits are parsed responsive to location marking, counting, and bit masking to provide insert bits. The insert bits are inserted into the encoded bitstream for output. A Context Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (“CABAC”) system includes: digital information storage (301) having digital video information stored therein; and a CABAC encoder (200) coupled to the digital information storage (301) to receive a portion of the digital video information at a time.
