  • Publication number: 20240139422
Abstract: A method of treatment may include providing a syringe having medicinal fluid therein for administering to a patient and coupling an attachment portion of an extrusion accessory having a handle and a pawl to a flange portion of the syringe. The pawl may have first and second ends, and be hingedly and rotatably coupled relative to the handle at a first position at the first end and at a second position between the first and second ends. The method may further include applying a force to translate the handle in a direction substantially perpendicular relative to a longitudinal axis of the syringe to cause axial movement of the second end of the pawl. The second end of the pawl may be engaged with a plunger of the syringe and axial movement of the second end of the pawl may drive the plunger forward to extrude the medicinal fluid from the syringe.

  • Publication number: 20240033492
Abstract: A layered microneedle device can have successively stacked layers that each include microneedles and perforations positioned between the microneedles. The layers can be stacked to permit microneedles of a lower layer to extend through the perforations of an upper layer. Thus, microneedles of successively stacked layers can extend away from individual layers in a common direction.

  • Publication number: 20230341752
Abstract: Recording indicators for devices with cameras that provide protection from tampering so that the recording indicators cannot be easily disabled or masked. Recording indicators that are external to the camera lens and that emit visible light in an encrypted pattern are described. The device may process captured frames to detect the encrypted pattern; if the encrypted pattern cannot be detected, recording is disabled. In addition, modular accessories are described that the user has to attach to the device to enable recording; the presence of the modular attachment indicates to persons in the environment that they may be being recorded.

  • Patent number: 10987503
Abstract: A skin treatment can include applying a microneedle device to a region of the skin so that microneedles of the device penetrate the stratum corneum. The arrangement of microneedles can have first microneedles with a first length and second microneedles with a second length, different from the first length. The first and second microneedles can be formed from a mixture of a polymeric material and an active agent beneficial to skin. After the device is applied to the skin, the first and second microneedles can be released below the skin surface, followed by dissolution of the first and second microneedles.

  • Patent number: 9801747
Abstract: A variety of passive intragastric implant devices for obesity treatment are disclosed. Such passive devices do not autonomously change shape, but instead react within the stomach to induce satiety. The devices may take up volume within the stomach, thus reducing the intake capacity. Additionally, the devices may contact areas within the stomach, such as the cardia surrounding the esophageal sphincter, or the greater and lesser curvatures in the middle of the stomach, to stimulate satiety-inducing nerves. Some devices may combine two or more of these satiety-inducing features. Methods of implant are disclosed including compressing the devices within a delivery tube and transorally advancing the devices through the esophagus to be deployed within the stomach. Removal of the devices occurs in the reverse.
