  • Publication number: 20090234967
Abstract: Transferring peer-to-peer (P2P) file distribution tasks involve beginning a file transfer session at a first apparatus via an Internet-based, peer-to-peer, distributed file transfer network. A local connection between the first apparatus and a second apparatus is established via a local network while the file transfer session is ongoing. Data describing remaining tasks of the ongoing file transfer session is transferred to the second apparatus via the local connection. The file transfer session is assumed by the second apparatus via the file transfer network, and the first apparatus then discontinues further tasks related to the file transfer session.

  • Publication number: 20070276799
Abstract: A method and a device such as a modern mobile terminal for addressing reachability information over a wireless communications network providing access to a number of data elements. First, criteria are obtained for finding information related to at least a single person or entity (404), and then, a search is conducted in the wireless communications network or a connected network thereof in order to access data substantially fulfilling the criteria (406). Next, at least part of the data found is associated with a context (408), and finally the reachability information is established on the basis of the context (410).

  • Publication number: 20060229129
Abstract: A system for effectuating a push-to-talk service in a gaming environment includes a network entity within a gaming architecture, where the network entity is capable of operating an electronic game. The system also includes a client capable of interacting with the network entity in the gaming architecture to play an electronic game. The client is also capable of establishing a push-to-talk session in a multimedia service architecture. The push-to-talk session has at least one associated parameter, which the client can transfer one or more of the parameters to the network entity. Accordingly, the network entity is capable of advertising the parameters to at least one other client to thereby enable the other clients to join the push-to-talk session based upon the parameters.

  • Publication number: 20050002382
Abstract: A communication system comprising a data communication network, a service provider and a communication terminal is described. The communication terminal includes a user interaction device, a processor, a memory and a character stored in the memory and capable of running on the processor and of providing a presence on the user interaction device. The communication system also comprises an agent residing in the data communication network being configurable to collect data from the service provider, of providing a continuous follow-up of occurrences in the network and of providing the data to the character. The character is configurable to approach the agent and to receive the data from the agent over a wireless link supported by the communication terminal and to present the data to the user by means of the user interaction device. Furthermore, a method for data transfer from a service provider to a communication terminal over a data communication network is described.
