Publication number: 20240160800Abstract: The disclosed simulation environment, methods, and system support simultaneous design and analysis of assemblies with unified computer aided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA). The system provides a simulation environment that is unified with the architecture of the assembly environment, which significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to set up structural simulations as compared to prior simulation tools. The system enables CAD designers to obtain accurate mechanical guidance such as strength and rigidity early and often in the design process, seeing the structural impact of CAD modifications at the sketch, part, and configuration level. Such guidance can be particularly helpful when CAD engineers are determining product fit and form, defining dimensions, and shaping the overall weight and volume of designs.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2024Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Christopher L. Gromek, Joseph B. Alford, Gregory D. Brown, Adam Chacon, Jonathan D. Hiller, George R. Hudetz, Tej Kumar, Joshua A. Natarajan, K Evan Nowak, James Olliff

Patent number: 11980360Abstract: Devices, systems and/or methods for repairing soft tissue adjacent a repair site. In one embodiment, a repair device is delivered with a delivery device system configured to move a cartridge with the repair device disposed therein toward an anvil with soft tissue positioned thereon. The delivery device linearly moves the cartridge toward the anvil with a worm drive positioned within a housing by rotating a thumb wheel disposed around the worm drive. Such linear movement is provided with a finger element extending from the worm drive that is configured to cooperate with an internal surface of the thumb wheel. With this arrangement, upon rotating the thumb wheel, the worm drive rotates with the finger element engaged with the internal surface of the thumb wheel to linearly move the cartridge toward the anvil.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2022Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignee: CONEXTIONS, INC.Inventors: Erik N. Publication number: 20230063416Abstract: A polytherapy of orally available compounds is disclosed that synergistically modulates and induces the expression of the cathelicidin gene (CAMP), which encodes the host defense peptide LL-37. By providing a number of different CAMP-inducing compounds together at the same time, stronger gene induction is achieved than with just one or two compounds, because the mechanism of induction broadens. Induction also may vary in different pas of the body depending on which compounds are used, and at what levels. We show for the first time that the polytherapy can induce cathelicidin expression in the brain, which may help to treat or prevent Alzheimer's Disease Systemic cathelicidin gene induction may help treat numerous other conditions including Type 2 Diabetes/Metabolic Syndrome, or chronic bacterial, viral, or fungal infections associated with increased cancer risk or neurodegeneration.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2022Publication date: March 2, 2023Applicants: Maxwell Biosciences, Inc., The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior UniversityInventors: Annelise E.
