  • Patent number: 9778385
Abstract: Computing device, computer software and methods for generating sweep signals corresponding to plural sources that generate seismic waves. The method includes selecting a nominal sweep signal (S0); applying a perturbation (P) to the nominal sweep signal (S0); and calculating the sweep signals (Sn) by varying the perturbation (P), each sweep signal corresponding to a seismic source.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2014
Date of Patent: October 3, 2017
    Assignee: CGG SERVICES SAS
Inventors: Kaelig Castor, Thomas Bianchi, John Sallas
  • Patent number: 9557429
Abstract: A system and method for reducing noise in a seismic vibratory source is disclosed. The method includes generating an initial pilot signal for the seismic vibratory source, receiving a source signature based on the initial pilot signal, estimating a noise component of the source signature based on the source signature and the initial pilot signal, generating an anti-noise correction for the initial pilot signal based on the noise component of the source signature, and computing a modified pilot signal based on the initial pilot signal and the anti-noise correction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 2016
Date of Patent: January 31, 2017
    Assignee: CGG SERVICES SAS
Inventors: Kaelig Castor, Olivier Winter, Thomas Bianchi
  • Patent number: 9405726
Abstract: A method for calculating intermodulation noise generated with one or more land seismic sources. The method includes receiving seismic data generated by actuating the one or more land seismic source with a first sweep and a second sweep; calculating with a computing device a first earth response corresponding to the first sweep; calculating with the computing device a second earth response corresponding to the second sweep; and calculating the intermodulation noise based on the first and second earth responses. The second sweep is a time reverse sweep of the first sweep.

Date of Patent: August 2, 2016
    Assignee: CGG SERVICES SA
