  • Publication number: 20240009750
Abstract: Methods and systems for powering and/or charging auxiliary systems of a vehicle. Such methods and systems utilize a welding system having power conversion circuitry that receives power from at least a first power source on the vehicle and generates different output powers of the welding system characterized by different output voltages. At least two different auxiliary systems receive at least two of the different output powers of the welding system.

  • Publication number: 20230272809
Abstract: A system and method for controlling flow of air into an air compressor of an air compressor system includes a proportional solenoid valve configured to control flow of supply air into the air compressor in proportional response to sensed air pressure generated by the air compressor system.

  • Publication number: 20230050997
Abstract: An electric air compressor system includes an air compressor and an electric motor configured for driving the air compressor. An electric power storage device provides electric power to the electric motor. An electric generator provides electric power to the electric power storage device and/or to the electric motor. A power regulator including a processor controls operation of the electric generator. The power regulator controls operation of the electric generator based on at least one of an on/off operational state of the electric generator, the temperature of the electric generator, the temperature of the electric power storage device, the electrical current output of the electric generator, and the speed of the electric generator.

  • Publication number: 20220364563
Abstract: A gas-liquid separator and method and air compressor system. The gas-liquid separator includes a separator tank having wet side and dry side chambers. The wet side chamber separates and collects liquids from pressurized air that enters through a tank inlet. A separation valve inlet port connects the wet side chamber with the dry side chamber and allows moist air to pass from the wet side chamber to the dry side chamber and prevents collected liquids from passing from the wet side chamber to the dry side chamber. A separation valve assembly opens the separation valve inlet port when pressurized air is forced into the wet side chamber and a pressure is met and/or exceeded and to close the separation valve inlet port when pressurized air is not being forced into the wet side chamber and pressure falls below the pressure.

  • Patent number: 9912183
Abstract: A jump starter unit for starting large vehicles and other equipment using jumper cable at lengths up to fifty (50) feet. The jump starter includes a high output (200-300 amp) alternator and a large (2000 Farad) capacitor. The alternator is also used to maintain the capacitor's charge when the boost charge is not needed. The alternator and capacitor are integrated into an electrical system that includes an electronic control and a plurality of relays that provide the various charging and boost functions of the unit. In certain embodiments, the jump starter unit may take the form of a portable or mobile self contained apparatus having its own combustion to drive the high output alternator. In other embodiments, the jump starter unit may be integrated into a service vehicle, such as a tow truck or utility vehicle, and utilize the vehicle's engine to drive the jump starter's high output alternator.
