  • Patent number: 9464574
Abstract: A method for running up a stationary gas turbine is provided. The turbine has a combustion chamber, the burners of which have a pilot burner and a main burner and by which various types of fuel are introduced into the combustion chamber for burning. The method, carried out while a rotor of the gas turbine is accelerating from a standstill to a nominal speed, includes feeding fuel of a first type of fuel to the pilot burners and feeding fuel of the first type of fuel to the main burners. In order to provide a method in which a comparatively low supply pressure is required in the fuel supply system and in which combustion vibrations that put the machine at risk are avoided during the running-up process, it is proposed that fuel of a second type of fuel is fed to the burner before the nominal speed is reached.

  • Publication number: 20160252254
Abstract: A burner arrangement for a combustion chamber for combustion of fluid fuels has a main burner and pilot burner arranged centrally within the main burner for the ignition and/or stabilization of the combustion of the main burner. The main burner has central fuel feed arrangement arranged around the pilot burner, an annular air duct surrounding the central fuel feed arrangement for the supply of combustion air, first fuel nozzles for injection of substantially gaseous fuel into the annular air duct. The first fuel nozzles are fed from a first fuel distributor in the central fuel feed arrangement, and second fuel nozzles for the injection of a substantially liquid fuel into the annular air duct are fed from a second fuel distributor in the central fuel feed arrangement. Ducts are provided which branch off from at least one of the fuel distributors and issue into the pilot burner.

  • Publication number: 20160010865
Abstract: A method for producing a fuel lance for a burner, in particular for a gas turbine burner, has at least the following steps: creating a fuel lance body having a tip that has a cooling air duct, which opens into an exit opening extending around a longitudinal axis of the fuel lance body, and a nozzle face, which is arranged around the exit opening and has a plurality of fuel nozzles; determining a spatial distribution of a heat input, to which the nozzle face is subjected during operation when a fuel flowing out through the fuel nozzles is burnt; and applying a thermally insulating layer onto the nozzle face in accordance with the spatial distribution of the heat input. A fuel lance is produced with the method. A burner has such a fuel lance.

  • Patent number: 9074771
Abstract: A burner insert for a gas turbine combustion chamber is provided. The burner insert includes a burner insert wall including a cold side and a hot side, an edge delimiting the burner insert wall. The edge includes an edge bar extending at least partially circumferentially and projecting beyond the cold side. A burner opening for inserting a burner is formed in the burner insert wall.

  • Publication number: 20150159878
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine engine includes a pilot fuel injector and a plurality of circumferentially located main injectors for injecting fuel and air into a combustion chamber defined by a liner wall of a combustor basket. A combustion zone is located in the combustion chamber where the fuel and air are ignited to produce hot combustion gases. A plurality of vortex generators are located in circumferentially spaced relation on the liner wall and comprise structures extending radially inward into the combustion chamber to create vortices at predetermined circumferential locations downstream from where the fuel and air are ignited to effect a reduction in emissions of the combustion gases.
