The method further includes analyzing the web page to determine a list of the associated elements and presenting the list to a user. A user selection of one or more associated elements from the list is received and registered for later retrieval. A method for presenting a composite web page is also disclosed. Abstract: A method for dynamically constructing a web page is disclosed which includes receiving a uniform resource locator identifying a web page. The web page references a plurality of elements. The method also includes receiving a user identifier representing a user and evaluating each of the referenced elements based on the user identifier to identify a subset of at least one element the user is authorized to access. The method further includes determining a data conversion specification associated with the user and determining a data representation specification associated with the user. The subset of elements that the user is authorized to access is converted and presented to the user. Systems and computer-readable storage media for defining and presenting a composite web page are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for monitoring service levels of a service provider includes defining performance criteria, deploying at least one data collection agent and executing each data collection agent to monitor and collect operation data. The method further includes receiving the operation data from each data collection agent and aggregating the operation data. A level of service is then determined based on the performance criteria and the aggregated operation data. A system and computer-readable storage media for monitoring service levels of a service provider are also disclosed.

Abstract: A multimedia authoring method and system using theme templates. First, a multimedia template database including a plurality of theme templates is provided, each theme template including a menu template and a visual content template, and both including predetermined menu and visual content parameters respectively. Next, multimedia data is obtained. One theme template is selected according to user control and a menu template and a visual content template of the selected theme template are applied to the multimedia data respectively.

Abstract: A motion menu generation method, implemented by a motion menu generation system. First, menu foreground elements are provided, and at least one still image is retrieved as an input of the motion menu generation system. Next, an animated image and animated image presentation data for presenting the animated image are generated from the still image. A motion menu conforming to a media format is generated. The motion menu comprises the menu foreground elements and a background for displaying the animated image according to the animated image presentation data. A stand-alone device dedicated to playing media can playback the motion menu according to the media format.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for speeding and enhancing the "learning" function of a computer configured as a multilayered, feed format artificial neural network using logistic functions as an activation function. The enhanced learning method provides a linear probing method for determining local minima values computed first along the gradient of the weight space and then adjusting the slope and direction of a linear probe line after determining the likelihood that a "ravine" has been encountered in the terrain of the weight space.

Abstract: A rule invocation mechanism in an inductive learning engine employing symbolic rules for characterizing a sequence of time-related events. The rules to be tested as hypotheses against new events in the sequence are ranked according to their information content or "quality" value. The efficiency of the rule-to-event pattern matching process for characterizing the new events is increased by not testing a hypothesis if a much better hypothesis already exists. Those hypotheses that characterize events in the sequence are tagged to the event.
