The method includes determining, by the electronic device, the temperature of the electronic device, while a plurality of applications are executed on the electronic device, wherein each of the applications from the plurality of applications is associated with a first RAT. Further, the method includes detecting, by the electronic device, that the temperature of the electronic device meets thermal mitigation criteria. Further, the method includes mitigating, by the electronic device, the temperature of the electronic device by switching the application from the plurality of applications from the first RAT to a second RAT in response to detecting that the temperature of the electronic device meets the thermal mitigation criteria.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein provide methods and systems for performing paging operation in 5G communication networks. The 5G core network can transmit a NAS message to a UE through a N3GPP access network, if the UE is reachable through the N3GPP access network. The NAS message can be sent by the 5G core network to the N3IWF. The N3IWF can send the NAS message to the UE, through the N3GPP access network. The UE can send a service request over 3GPP access, in response to the NAS message, to the 5G core network, through a 5G RAN. If the UE is not having access to the 5G RAN, then the UE can transmit a notification response message to the 5G core network, indicating the inability to transmit a service request. The transmission of NAS message through the N3IWF can lead to a significant saving of radio resources.

    Abstract: A method, and a user equipment (UE) for power saving through optimized early measurement of frequencies for secondary cell setup in cellular network are provided. The UE initiates a service with a base station associated with a primary cell supporting the early measurement of the frequencies for the secondary cell (SCell) setup. The UE determines whether the service belongs to one of a first service set, and a second service set. The early measurement of the frequencies for the S Cell setup is temporarily terminated, and/or the transmission of an early measurement report comprising the one or more frequencies for the SCell setup to the base station is temporarily terminated. Alternatively, the UE performs the early measurement of the frequencies for the SCell setup and transmits the early measurement report to the base station when the service belongs to the second service set.

    Abstract: Methods and/or systems for managing continuity of data flow in 5G networks. A UE may receive a message from a 5G network in response to a PDU session establishment request. The message indicates a failure to establish a PDU session with a first DNN and a first network slice. A PDU session may be established with at least one of a second DNN and a second network slice, if the PDU session is matching with a route selection descriptor applicable to data traffic to be routed through the PDU session. A non-CIoT device may receive a message from a 5G network in response to a service request. The message may indicate failure of a service request procedure, pertaining to a PDU session, such as due to insufficient user-plane resources. The PDU session may be closed and reestablished. If there is lower layer failure in 5G, a connection may be established with a 4G network for data transfer.
