  • Patent number: 7649548
Abstract: A method transfers image information from a camera module (1) to an electronic device, such as a mobile station (23). In the camera module (1), an image is formed by an image sensor (2) having pixels, where the light to which the pixel (P1,1-Pm,n) is exposed is converted into an analog signal which is converted into digital image information. The image information is transferred in serial form, and the transfer of the image information is controlled by the electronic device (23).

  • Patent number: 7644309
Abstract: The invention relates to a recovery of a hardware module of an electronic device from a malfunction state. The hardware module is connected via a signal line to a recovery component of the device, a state of the signal line being controlled by the hardware module. The recovery component monitors a state of the signal line. Whenever the signal line is detected not to assume a predetermined state during a predetermined period of time, the recovery component causes a hardware reset of the hardware module.

  • Patent number: 7516395
Abstract: Image or other data is stored in a memory. A first validation parameter (e.g., a checksum) is determined for the data stored in the memory at a first time, and stored. A second validation parameter is determined for the data stored in the memory at a second time, and also stored. The stored first and second validation parameters are then compared. In this manner, corruption of data in the memory may be determined by the comparison. In the case where the compared first and second validation parameters are not identical (within a threshold in certain embodiments), the data stored in the memory is updated. As applied to graphical image data, this is seen as advantageous over the prior art approach of periodically updating a frame memory even when no new image data set is present. Apparatus and computer program products are also detailed.

  • Publication number: 20080117151
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an arrangement of display pixels and reflectors arranged to reflect ambient light passing through the display pixels. The reflectors are electrically controllable, in order to enable an optimization of the portion of the ambient light that is reflected by the reflectors. A required adjustment of such electrically controllable reflectors can be determined, and the reflectors can then be controlled accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20070224940
Abstract: An electronic device 300 comprises a processing component 330 for reducing electromagnetic interferences. The processing component 330 is adapted to determine an activity status of at least one first component 311-315 operating in at least one known frequency range. The processing component 330 is further adapted to adjust an operating frequency of an active second component 321-322 depending on the determined activity status of the at least one first component 311-315. The invention relates equally to a chipset 330, to a method, to a software code 331 and to a software program product realizing the functions of the processing component 330.

  • Publication number: 20070176918
Abstract: An energy-conserving mobile station and a means for reducing the energy consumption of a mobile station and to reduce burn-in on the display element, where a part of the liquid crystal display element (LCD) of a mobile station is switched off, when the whole display element is not needed and a limited amount of information is displayed on the switched-on part of the display element (A1). An arrangement according to the present invention can be implemented by e.g. driving the control circuit (DC) of the liquid crystal display that supports the partition of the display element to switch of certain rows of the display element in energy conservation mode and switching them on to be used, when information is desired to be displayed on all of the display element.

  • Publication number: 20050220232
Abstract: A mobile station (10) includes a plurality of sub-assemblies coupled together by a plurality of data communication buses (22) connected to ports (20). At least one port includes a Multi-level Analog Signaling (MAS) circuit arrangement that includes a transmitter to encode data bits represented by multi-level analog signals. A data communications bus that couples the transmitter to a receiver in another port includes at least two multi-level, possibly differential signal buses for conveying the encoded data bits such that, on each multi-level signal bus, during each data bit period the signal level is required to change from a first signal level to a second, different signal level. The transmitter indicates a data boundary, such as the beginning or the end of multi-bit frame, to the receiver by holding one of the multi-level signal buses of the at least two signal buses at the same level for at least two consecutive bit periods.
