  • Publication number: 20230409653
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for retrieving image search results using embedding neural network models. In one aspect, an image search query is received. A respective pair numeric embedding for each of a plurality of image-landing page pairs is determined. Each pair numeric embedding is a numeric representation in an embedding space. An image search query embedding neural network processes features of the image search query and generates a query numeric embedding. The query numeric embedding is a numeric representation of the image search query in the same embedding space. A subset of the image-landing page pairs having pair numeric embeddings that are closest to the query numeric embedding of the image search query in the embedding space are identified as first candidate image search results.

  • Publication number: 20200159765
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for performing image search. In one aspect, a system receives a request for images responsive to a provided search query including one or more search terms. The system obtains content labels for the provided search query which represent entities depicted in images identified by search results previously generated by a search system by processing search queries comprising search terms included in the provided search query. The system uses the content labels for the provided search query to determine a relevance score for each of multiple candidate images. The system determines a ranking of the candidate images based in part on the relevance scores for the candidate images.

  • Patent number: 6947399
Abstract: A next generation wireless data system and method for handoff from a node in a network is presented. The system includes a core network (CN) and a source and a target radio network subsystem (RNS). The interface between the RNSs is enhanced to reduce unnecessary relay of messaging through the CN and thus will reduce traversing delays as well as the resources utilized in message processing. Two separate methods are proposed for handing off the data traffic to the target RNS at the CN packet processing node. These methods are a multi-cast function that concurrently sends data to the source RNS and the target RNS, and a suspend/resume function which suspends the data flow towards the source RNS and resumes the flow towards the target RNS.

  • Patent number: 6556556
Abstract: An improved method and system for limiting data packet transmission within a digital mobile telephone communication network, such as a code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile telephone communication network, by discarding unsuccessfully transmitted radio link protocol frames is disclosed. A code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile telephone communication network includes a mobile telephone, a base station, a mobile switching center, and a network Interworking Function. Within the CDMA mobile telephone communication network, each point-to-point protocol data packet is typically divided into multiple radio link protocol frames before their transmissions over an air link. In accordance with a method and system of the present invention, a marker bit is provided for each of the radio link protocol frames. The marker bit can be part of the frame header and will be removed before air link transmission.

  • Patent number: 6466544
Abstract: A system and method for GPRS MAC procedures to support delay-sensitive, real-time traffic is presented. The system comprises a mobile station able to transmit packets to and receive packets from a base station, where the base station is coupled to a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network, and where the GPRS network is coupled to a data network. In an uplink dynamic scheme, the base station receives an empty packet from the mobile station. The base station releases a bandwidth allocated to the mobile station if an implementation dependent time expires and further allocates a reduced portion of the bandwidth to the mobile station if a number of the empty packets are received or if a control packet requesting additional bandwidth is received by the base station. In an uplink fixed scheme, the base station allocates a fixed number of radio resources to the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 6353902
Abstract: A system for proactive maintenance of a telecommunications network. A database is created containing characteristics of a plurality of valid logs. These valid logs represent alarms within a network which report status and abnormalities in the network and which have been specifically selected by a network domain expert or administrator from a larger group of logs. The characteristics correspond to a pattern of network fault parameters. The network is monitored for occurrences of a valid log. When a valid log is encountered, future occurrence of a fault is predicted based on an analysis of the valid log and the characteristics found in the database. Corrective measures are taken to prevent the fault from occurring.

  • Patent number: 6173175
Abstract: The provisioning process of the present invention first determines the average number of units of the system resource that are held per call. This parameter is a function of the call model and call-related event holding times. The average number of units is used, along with the Busy Hour Call Attempts to determine the holding rate, Rresource, of that particular call-related event to be allocated memory. The holding rate is then used by ┌Rresource +7{square root over (Rresource)}┐ to determine the number of resources required to be allocated to the call-related event.
