  • Publication number: 20090286194
Abstract: A tool for rotating a component on a mechanism, to achieve linear and rotational movement of an element on the mechanism, involves three subassemblies mounted on the tool. Firstly, a reference unit that can engage with the mechanism to establish a stationary datum. Secondly, a drive assembly that can be rotated relative to the datum. Thirdly, an engagement member, selectively engaged between the component and the drive assembly for rotation of the component.

  • Patent number: 7377779
Abstract: A system for straightening teeth includes a casting of teeth that is made of a rigid material, and a gum casting made of a flexible material that is joined to the teeth casting. A respective articulating tool for each tooth is provided with a post that is embedded into the tooth. Tooth moving components, accessible through the gum casting, are mounted on each post to selectively provide for left-right, fore-aft, and rotational tooth movements. In its operation, the system involves selectively orienting individual teeth in the teeth casting, to prepare a series of sequentially useable appliances that will straighten teeth in accordance with a pre-planned procedure.

  • Patent number: 7273370
Abstract: A device for forming a mold for a dental prosthetic includes a dental tray that provides connection to a vacuum source. Additionally, the device includes a dam that may be used to selectively block suction from the vacuum source. The method for forming a mold for a dental prosthetic includes forming an impression with a dental tray including a dam and then forming a mold within the impression after portions of the dam are selectively removed to allow suction to draw in moldable material to the desired teeth.

  • Publication number: 20070085408
Abstract: A chair mounted lumbar and trapezius support system that offers support for an individual required to work leaning forward in an office style chair for a prolonged period of time. The device reduces the strain on the back by supporting the individual in the abdominal area of body. Adjustable elbow rests mount to the support belt structure to support the elbows and allow maximum movement of the arms while remaining in a fixed position with relation to the torso when a individual is leaning forward or twists to one side or the other doing delicate work. A single support belt structure is attachable to one or a plurality of chairs using fasteners, belts or a flexible support without removing the belt from the torso allowing easy traverse between multiple chairs in an office.

  • Patent number: 7140691
Abstract: A furniture article having an integral torso support system includes a chair having a seat portion and a backrest portion. Two belt members are permanently attached to the chair's backrest portion and extend therefrom to free ends. Coupling elements are attached to the free ends to provide for connection between the belt members. With this cooperation of structure, the coupling elements can be engaged to configure the belt segment and the belt portion as the support system for restraining the torso of a person sitting on the seat portion of the chair as the person leans forward in a direction away from the backrest portion of the chair.

  • Publication number: 20050214707
Abstract: A device and method for affixing orthodontic brackets to teeth includes a support member, a holder mounted on the support member for holding orthodontic brackets, and a base member mounted on the support member at a predetermined distance from the holder and parallel to the holder. In operation, a bracket is engaged with the holder and a dental adhesive is applied to the bracket. The base member initially contacts the tooth, followed by the bracket, which urges against the surface of the tooth at the predetermined distance from the base member. Once positioned, the bracket is held in place until the adhesive sets, thereby affixing the bracket to the tooth.
