Patent number: 7117856Abstract: A fuel delivery system for delivering fuel from a fuel tank to an engine includes a reservoir disposed within the fuel tank and a fuel pump, such as an electrically driven fuel pump, operable to draw fuel from within the reservoir. The fuel pump has a first port and a second port that independently discharge the fuel from the fuel pump. A first jet pump is operable to draw the fuel within the fuel tank into the reservoir. A first flow path communicates between the first port and the engine. A second flow path communicates between the second port and the first jet pump, so that the fuel within the fuel tank is transferred into the reservoir due to the flow of the fuel supplied to the first jet pump via the second flow path.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2004Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Aisan Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshihiko Honda, Kaneo Imamura

Patent number: 5752316Abstract: An orifice plate to be mounted at a fuel jet section of an injector has a plurality of jet holes formed therethrough for injecting fuel. The orifice plate includes a curved surface formed at an inlet peripheral edge of each of the jet holes, and a cylindrical projection formed at an outlet of each of the jet holes. The cylindrical projection has the same inner diameter as that of the jet hole.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1996Date of Patent: May 19, 1998Assignees: Aisan Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, Miyama Seiko Kabushiki Kaisha, Citizen Tokei Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takaaki Takagi, Kaneo Imamura, Katuo Yoshihara, Akihiro Tanaka

Patent number: 5224458Abstract: A fuel injector of the type in which a valve hole is opened and closed by a valve so as to intermittently inject pressurized fuel from the valve hole includes a distributing adapter fixedly attached to a front end of the valve hole, and an air adapter fixedly attached to a front end of the distributing adapter. The air adapter is formed with a plurality of guide holes directed to a plurality of intake ports of the engine, respectively, and assist air passages each communicating laterally with a corresponding one of the guide holes. The distributing adapter is formed with distributing holes of the same number as the guide holes, each of the distributing holes extending between the valve hole and a corresponding one of the guide holes.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1992Date of Patent: July 6, 1993Assignee: Aisan Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takashi Okada, Toshiro Makimura, Kaneo Imamura

Patent number: 5085369Abstract: A fuel injector including a valve housing having a fuel injection hole formed at a front end of the valve housing; a valve movably provided int he valve housing so as to open and close the fuel injection hole; a nozzle fixedly mounted to a front end of the valve housing; and a fuel colliding member provided in the nozzle and positioned in alignment with the fuel injection hole in front thereof. A size of the fuel colliding member is smaller in cross section perpendicular to an axis of the fuel injector than that of the fuel injection hole. Accordingly, a radially inside part of a columnar fuel after collision with the fuel colliding member further collides with a radially outside part of the columnar fuel passing outside the fuel colliding member to accelerate atomization of the fuel without reducing a velocity of flow of the fuel.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1990Date of Patent: February 4, 1992Assignee: Aisan Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tsuneaki Aoki, Toshiro Makimura, Kaneo Imamura

Patent number: 4860706Abstract: A throttle valve comprising a first outer peripheral portion linearly contacting an inner wall of an intake passage at a predetermined throttle angle and a second outer peripheral portion formed in the vicinity of a throttle shaft in such a manner as to gently continue from the first outer peripheral portion and not contacting the inner wall at the predetermined throttle angle. With this arrangement, as there is defined a space between the second outer peripheral portion and the inner wall in the vicinity of the throttle shaft, the generation of scuffing and biting of the throttle valve against the inner wall may be prevented. Further, as the first outer peripheral portion of the throttle valve linearly contacts the inner wall at the closing position, the leakage of suction air upon full closing of the throttle valve may be suppressed.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1988Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Aisan Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takio Suzuki, Kaneo Imamura
