  • Publication number: 20170185006
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an endless belt that is stretched around plural rollers; a driving unit that drives the belt to rotate; a contact member that is in contact with a part of a surface of the belt, the part being supported by one of the plural rollers; and a switching device that changes an image forming mode by displacing at least one of the plural rollers. When the image forming mode is changed by the switching device, the belt is rotated by the driving unit in a normal direction at a speed higher than a speed of reverse rotation of the roller that is in contact with the contact member with the belt interposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 9046866
Abstract: A cleaning device includes first and second cleaning members and a moving member. The first cleaning member contacts a surface of a rotating member, which is in contact with an image carrier, to clean the rotating member by removing substances attached thereto. The moving member supports the first cleaning member in a movable manner. The second cleaning member is disposed downstream of the first cleaning member in a rotation direction in which the rotating member rotates and contacts the surface of the rotating member to clean the rotating member by removing the substances. The second cleaning member removes the substances that remain on the surface of the rotating member after the first cleaning member has been separated from the rotating member so that the substances are removed before a part of the surface of the rotating member on which the substances remain comes into contact with the image carrier.

  • Patent number: 5205440
Abstract: A coupling of the present invention can be freely detachably attached to a flexible container whose outlet or opening is closed by a seal member broken by the tip of a male connector portion of the coupling. This coupling comprises a cylindrical body having at the tip thereof a hole for sucking fluid in the container, a valve seat formed in the cylindrical body, a valve body arranged in a fluid passing path communicated with the fluid sucking hole, and a spring for urging the valve body against the valve seat. When this coupling is attached to the opening of the container, the seal member by which the opening of the container is closed is broken by the tip of the cylindrical body. When a sucking pump is made operative to suck fluid in the container, therefore, the valve body is drawn against the spring to communicate the fluid passing path with the sucking hole, so that fluid in the container can be collected in a cup through the opening of the container.
