  • Patent number: 8135130
Abstract: The data encryption apparatus with a data converting unit splits 256-bit input data into 32-bit data blocks A1, B1, A2, and B2. A first combining unit performs an exclusive OR operation on A1 and B1, and on A2 and B2. A first scramble unit branches A1, A2, and the results of the exclusive OR operations (C1 and C2) into three data blocks each, and for each set of three data blocks, shift-rotates two of the data blocks and combines the shifted data blocks with the remaining data block. A second combining unit performs an exclusive OR operation on D1 and E2, and on D2 and E1, which are the results of the processing performed by the first scramble unit. A block concatenating unit concatenates the results of the operations performed by the second combining unit. A second scramble unit branches the concatenated data into three data blocks, shift-rotates two of the data blocks and combines the two shifted data blocks with the remaining data block.

  • Publication number: 20110319163
Abstract: A game system in which game software produced to be used in stationary game machines can be used in portable game machines. The game system includes a stationary game machine, a portable game machine, and a memory card connectable to both the stationary and portable game machines. Image data contained in game software produced for the stationary game machine shows an image in the form of free-form surface. The stationary game machine converts the image data to show the image in the form of a polygon according to processing performance of the portable game machine, and stores the converted image data and a game program executable by the portable game machine onto the memory card. The portable game machine executes the game program stored on the memory card, and generates and displays a display image from the image data stored on the memory card.

  • Patent number: 8077980
Abstract: An image processing apparatus enables image data to be handled easily after photography. A server apparatus patterns images and controls information in correspondence with user identifiers. A digital camera photographs a subject, obtains a pattern image and a piece of control information from the server apparatus, and judges whether a portion of the image data obtained by photography matches the obtained pattern image. If a matching portion exists, then the digital camera operates in accordance with an operation instruction included in the piece of control information. If the operation instruction is mosaic processing, then the digital camera performs mosaic processing to the matching portion. If the operation instruction is image replacement, then the digital camera replaces the matching portion with a predetermined image or performs CG processing on the matching portion. If the operation instruction is frame deletion, then the digital camera deletes the image data.

  • Patent number: 8048174
Abstract: A theft prevention system capable of preventing theft of a target object by disabling the authorized key of the target object in the case where the authorized key has been stolen. When the authorized key is lost, a mobile telephone instructs a vehicle control device to set a warning mode. On receipt of this warning mode instruction, the vehicle control device sets warning mode, generates an electronic key, and transmits the generated electronic key to the mobile telephone, which receives and stores the electronic key. Once the warning mode is set in the vehicle, locking and unlocking are only possible using the electronic key. If the authorized key is found, the mobile telephone instructs the vehicle control device to set the normal mode. Upon receipt of this normal mode instruction, the vehicle control device sets the normal mode in the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20110119493
Abstract: Processing load on an executing device for conducting playback is high during the playback of contents since the executing device performs verification of the contents validity in parallel with the contents playback, and therefore the executing device has to be equipped with a highly efficient processor. The present invention reduces the processing load involved in the verification by using, for the verification, only a predetermined number of encrypted units selected randomly from multiple encrypted units constituting encrypted contents recorded on the DVD. In addition, the present invention is capable of improving the accuracy of detecting unauthorized contents to some extent by randomly selecting a predetermined number of encrypted units every time the verification is performed.

  • Publication number: 20110004771
Abstract: An electronic terminal performs early detection of unauthorized analysis thereon and prevents unauthorized acquisition and falsification of confidential information that is not to be released to a third party. The electronic terminal stores confidential information that is protected by consecutive application of a plurality of protection measures for defense against an attack from a third party. The electronic terminal monitors for attacks to the protection measures from an external source, and upon detecting an attack on one protection measure, updates a protection state of the confidential information to a new protection state in which either a new protection measure has been added to a protection path from the one attacked protection means to the confidential information, or the one protection measure on the path has been updated to a higher defense level.
