  • Patent number: 4825990
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for transmitting torque from a driving shaft to a driven shaft, particularly an overrunning clutch, which works as an overrunning clutch in both directions. The apparatus comprises a part located within the clutch body and fitted with an internal engaging surface whose center line deviates from the center line of the driving shaft and with an external engaging surface whose center line is the same as the center line of the driving shaft. On the driving shaft there is a first engaging element which, in the engaging position, engages the internal engaging surface of the part within the clutch body in such a way that this engagement makes the external engaging surface of the part within the clutch body engage the internal engaging surface of the clutch body.

  • Patent number: 4776239
Abstract: The present invention relates to a semiautomatic transmission for vehicles, construction machines or similar equipment. In one embodiment of the invention, the semiautomatic transmission comprises a synchro-mesh transmission which has an electrically controlled gear shift mechanism, an electric control unit, for controlling the gear shift mechanism, and sensors, for measuring the torque of the engine, the rotating speed of the output shaft of the transmission and the driving speed. The sensors are arranged to transmit corresponding to measured quantities to the electric control unit for selecting a gear suiting the actual driving situation. Between the output shaft, of the transmission and the drive shaft, with which the power is transmitted to the drive gear, there is, in accordance with the invention, a bidirectionally engaging overrunning clutch to connect shaft, with each other.

  • Patent number: 4486116
Abstract: Friction joint for fixing machine elements together. The friction joint is established with the aid of at least one sleeve-like member (15) so that the sleeve-like member (15) is disposed around the first machine element (11) and that the second machine element (12) is adapted to receive the sleeve-like member (15). In the friction joint of the invention (10) the sealing problems have been totally avoided by employing a tiltable sleeve-like member (15) which is tiltable with the aid of a tilting means (17) through an angle (.alpha.), whereby the inner surface of the sleeve-like member (15) creates an interlocking with the first machine element (11) and similarly the outer surface of the sleeve-like member (15) creates an interlocking with the second machine element (12). The tilting means (17) is a tightening screw, disposed in a threaded hole (16) made to pass through the end face of the sleeve-like member (15).

  • Patent number: 4270638
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring torque from a driving shaft to a driven shaft include an outer coupling body attached to the driven shaft defining an interior cylindrical cavity and which is movable both rotatably and axially between an idling and a coupling position, an inner coupling body disposed within the cavity having a lower portion concentric with respect to the cavity and an upper portion having an interior coupling surface eccentric with respect to the cavity. The driving shaft extends within the inner body and has a first coupling member engaging the interior coupling surface and a second coupling member which engages the inner coupling body when the outer coupling body is in its idling position and which is disengaged therefrom when the outer coupling body is in its coupling position.

  • Patent number: 4166575
Abstract: A system for supplying hot and cold water to a mixing valve includes hot and cold water conduits which extend in the same general direction and which are situated adjacent each other for respectively supplying hot and cold water to a mixing valve. A slide valve extends across and intersects both of these conduits to regulate the flow of water therethrough. The slide valve automatically assumes under given pressure and temperature conditions of the water in the hot and cold water conduits a given position with respect thereto, and the slide valve is capable of automatically responding to a change in the pressure conditions for automatically moving with respect to the hot and cold water conduits in a direction which tends to eliminate this change.
