Abstract: The system has at least two electronic units between which signals are transferred from a first electronic unit and a second electronic unit. The first electronic unit has a signal source. The second electronic unit has a signal sink. A signal to be transferred is converted into a line-independent electromagnetic wave with a transmitting unit and transmitted to a receiving unit. • Publication number: 20050211878
Abstract: The invention relates to a receiver arrangement for a push-pull transmission method. First and second signal detectors, to which a first input signal is fed provide first and second detector signals depending on a comparison of the first input signal with a detector threshold. Third and fourth signal detectors, to which a second input signal is fed provide third and fourth detector signals depending on a comparison of the second input signal with a detector threshold. The first and third detector signals are respectively fed to a data input of a first and second buffer store The second and fourth detector signals are respectively fed to a reset input of the first and second buffer store. The first and second buffer store are designed for buffer-storing signal pulses contained in the first and second detector signals and forwarding them to a respective output for subsequent further processing in time-delayed fashion after a first delay duration.

  • Patent number: 6909268
Abstract: A current mode switching controller contains at least one controllable semiconductor switch, an impedance, a voltage divider, an external control circuit for regulating the voltage, and an internal control circuit coupled to the external control circuit and used to regulate the load current. The circuits controlling the controllable semiconductor switch according to the load current and the output potential. An integrator is provided for producing a control signal representing the load current as a result of time integration of the voltage. A signal is supplied to the internal control circuit as a control variable. Means for adapting the amplitude of the integrator contains at least one transconductance whose value in a transient state is inversely proportional to the output potential.

  • Publication number: 20040102164
Abstract: A receiver circuit contains first and second inputs for feeding in first and second input signals, and an output generating an output signal dependent on the input signals. A detector circuit has a first and second signal detectors connected to the first and second inputs, respectively. The signal detectors compare amplitudes of the input signals in each case with a detection threshold and in each case provide a detector output signal. The signal detectors each have a control input for setting the detection threshold, and the control input of the first signal detector is coupled to an output of the second signal detector and the control input of the second signal detector is coupled to an output of the first signal detector. A signal processing circuit receives the detector output signals and generates the output signal according to the detector output signals.

  • Publication number: 20040005009
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transmitting information contained in a transmission signal via at least one channel includes a number of processing steps at the transmitter end. At least one pulse sequence with at least one pulse is produced as stipulated by the transmission signal. The pulse sequence is output to the at least one channel. The channel is monitored for the presence of an interference signal. If an interference signal is detected on the channel, the pulse sequence is repeated.

  • Publication number: 20040005008
Abstract: A method for transmitting a digital data word, and an apparatus for carrying out the method, include the following processing steps: First, the data word is converted into a first serial differential data sequence which contains the information in at least one initialization bit and in the data bits of the data word in time with a clock signal. The data word is also converted into a second serial differential data sequence which contains the information in at least one initialization bit and in the data bits of an inverted data word, obtained by inverting the data word, in time with the clock signal. Next, the first differential data sequence is transmitted via a first data channel, and the second differential data sequence is transmitted via a second data channel.

  • Patent number: 6410950
Abstract: A pin diode includes an inner zone, a cathode zone and an anode zone. A boundary surface between the inner zone and the anode zone is at least partly curved and/or at least one floating region having the same conduction type and a higher dopant concentration than in the inner zone is provided in the inner zone. The turnoff performance in such geometrically coupled power diodes, in contrast to the turnoff performance of pin power diodes (in the Read-diode version) with spaced charge coupling, is largely temperature-independent. Hybrid diodes with optimized conducting-state and turnoff performance can be made from such FCI diodes. FCI diodes are preferably used in conjunction with switching power semiconductor elements, as voltage limiters or free running diodes.

  • Patent number: 6222356
Abstract: The novel current-mode switching regulator does not determine the load current by picking off a measurement voltage at a measuring resistor, as in the conventional prior art. Instead, the voltage drop across the inductor which is required in any case is picked off as the measurement voltage. A regulating signal derived from the load current is determined, by integration with respect to time, with a voltage-controlled current source. The regulating signal is fed back, as a regulated variable, into regulators of the inner control loop. In this way, it is possible to dispense with the measuring resistor. An additional compensation device makes it possible, moreover, to compensate for a regulation deviation in the desired potential of the outer control loop.

  • Patent number: 6150804
Abstract: A voltage regulator system is disclosed that has its input connected to a first supply voltage and has its output voltage at an output supplied during normal operation via a feedback line to an input of an integrated circuit with a drive for monitoring and regulating the output voltage to a predetermined, first voltage value with the drive, whereby a circuit arrangement for detecting an interruption of the feedback line is provided, and whereby, when an interruption occurs, a switch is made at the output from the predetermined, first voltage value to a predetermined, second voltage value.

  • Patent number: 5977611
Abstract: A Read diode includes an inner zone, a cathode zone, an anode zone and a first coupling zone disposed between the inner zone and the anode zone. A second coupling zone is disposed between the first coupling zone and the inner zone. Both coupling zones are used in the reverse mode for dividing an electric field into a high-field zone and a low-field zone and, consequently, permit greatly localized charge carrier generation by impact ionization in the voltage breakdown. The use of the two coupling zones ensures "punch-through" coupling between the high-field and low-field zones which, in contrast to the space charge coupling of Read diodes, permits a largely temperature-independent "soft-recovery" behavior. Hybrid diodes having optimized forward and commutation behaviors can be produced from the FCI-PT diodes. FCI-PT diodes are preferably employed in conjunction with switching power semiconductor components as voltage limiters or freewheeling diodes.
