  • Patent number: 6403062
Abstract: The invention relates to a perfume composition which, at the same time, has a tanning effect or both a sun-block and tanning effect. According to the invention, the perfume composition having a tanning effect or both a sun-block and tanning effect is comprised of a clear hydroalcoholic solution. Said solution contains an alcohol-soluble, organic sunscreen filter in a proportion of 0.05 to 12 wt. %; dihydroxyacetone in a proportion of 0.5 to 10 wt. %; one or more monovalent alcohols with 3 to 5 carbon atoms in a proportion of 30 to 85 wt. %; one or more polyvalent alcohols with 3 to 5 carbon atoms in a proportion of 0.5 to 15 wt %; perfume oil in a proportion of 1 to 20 wt. %; and water in a proportion of 3 to 67.95 wt. %, hereby the proportions refer each time to the total composition.

  • Patent number: 6309627
Abstract: The invention relates to cosmetic compositions containing agglomerates with particular particle sizes. The compositions are characterized in that they contain spherical non-porous SiO2 particles with a particle size of 0.05-1.5 &mgr;m, and other inorganic particle-shaped materials with spherical structure. The spherical SiO2 and other inorganic materials form defined agglomerates with a particle size of 0.06 &mgr;m to 5 &mgr;m. The proportion of agglomerates in the cosmetic composition is between 0.1 and 30% wt. The aggregate-containing dispersions are produced by introducing the spherical SiO2 step by step and in special conditions. Formulations produced with these aggregates are characterized by particularly stable and high sunscreen factors.

  • Patent number: 6302950
Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous solution or dispersion with high shellac content. The aqueous shellac solution or dispersion is characterized in that it has a pH value of 2 to 4.2, and contains: 1 to 60% wt. shellac; 0.1 to 3% wt. of at least one water-soluble film former; 0.1 to 1% wt. of at least acid-resistant gel former; and water bringing the total to 100% wt. In accordance with the invention, the solution is produced by the following method: particle-shaped shellac is added to an aqueous solution and homogenized by stirring at 10 to 1500 rev/min., at a temperature of 5 to 20° C. The aqueous solution has a pH value of 2 to 4.2 and contains at least one water-soluble film former and at least one acid-resistant gel former. The shellac solution or dispersion can be used in the paint and varnish industry, the food industry and in cosmetics.

  • Patent number: 6245342
Abstract: A cosmetic preparation contains peptide derivatives from &agr;-MSH, as well as other active components. A cosmetic product has the property of activating the melanogenesis and being an anti-inflammatory and acting more efficiently. The synergetically active preparation also includes a combination of a peptide derivative corresponding to the formula (Lip)X-His-Phe-Arg-Y in a ratio of 0.05 mg to 2.5 mg of a pure peptide derivative per kg of the total mass, while the peptide derivative is mixed with xanthine in a ratio of 0.5 to 2 mol per 100 mol of peptide. Also there is at least 0.5 wt % of a mixture of enzymes and vitamins, containing at least 150 U/ml of superoxide dismutase. Also present are auxiliary agents and carrier agents in a ratio of 65 to 99.5 wt %, and possibly other active components.

  • Patent number: 6036969
Abstract: There are a process for evaluating beforehand a self-tanning composition in reference to different skin types, and a test kit to implement the process. A cosmetic self-tanning medium containing dihydroxyacetone is thinly rubbed on at least one test field, and the resulting tan on the test field is visually evaluated after 5 seconds to 5 minutes. The test field has at least one substance selected from the group of amino acids Gly, Ala, Val, Leu, Ile, Ser, Thr, Cys, Met, Asn, Lys, Asp, Gln, Glu, Phe, Tyr, Trp, His, Pro and the purines adenine, guanine, xanthine and hypoxanthine and mixtures of individual compounds of these chemicals.
