  • Patent number: 7357752
Abstract: A power train assembly is driveably engaged with an input source and includes a transmission module having a casing and a drive member. The transmission module is driveably connected to the input source and a creeper module is driveably engaged with the drive member of the transmission module. The creeper module is detachably mounted to the casing of the transmission module. An output assembly is in driving engagement with the creeper module and a control interface is configured to selectively engage the creeper module to transform the speed of the drive member to a reduced speed of the output member.

  • Patent number: 4676116
Abstract: A compact countershaft transmission includes three shafts, a plurality of gears, and low, high and reverse clutch assemblies to provide either one or two forward speeds and one reverse speed. The low and high clutch assemblies are arranged along the second shaft and the reverse clutch assembly is located along the third shaft. The countershaft transmission provides a moderate drop height between the first and third shafts, and is coupled to a trailing planetary transmission that provides a plurality of speeds for each range of the countershaft transmission. The countershaft transmission is compatible with a PTO section and provides positive drive to a plurality of pumps.

  • Patent number: 4660425
Abstract: A countershaft transmission auxiliary drive mechanism is provided for a countershaft transmission having an input shaft and a first gear connected thereto, and a second shaft having a second gear connected thereto and engaged with the first gear. A pump drive shaft is laterally offset from the first and second shafts, first and second pumps are connected to the opposite ends of the pump drive shaft, and a drive train is provided for rotating the pump drive shaft as a function of input shaft rotation. A PTO shaft and associated rotating clutch can be in coaxial alignment with the input shaft.

  • Patent number: 4658673
Abstract: A compact planetary transmission includes a plurality of interconnected planetary gear sets arranged along a common axis, and a plurality of brake assemblies and a clutch assembly used therewith to provide up to five speeds. It is preferably coupled to a leading reversible countershaft transmission to provide the desired speeds for an agricultural tractor, earthmoving vehicle or the like.

  • Patent number: 4614133
Abstract: A compact transmission is provided which includes a leading two speed forward and one speed reverse countershaft transmission, and a trailing five speed planetary transmission to give ten forward and two reverse speeds particularly adaptable to an agricultural vehicle. Very desirable speed steps are achieved between gears in the greatest working range, and the transmission provides an elevated PTO function and auxiliary pump drives within the envelope.

  • Patent number: 4238020
Abstract: A fluid pressure operated clutch which transmits torque from an engine output shaft to a transmission input shaft, including a rotatable flywheel connected to the output shaft, an adapter connected to the flywheel for rotation with the flywheel, the adapter having a first annular plate with a fluid passage near the inner periphery of the plate, and a centrifugal piston which defines with the adapter a fluid chamber supporting a rotatable torus of hydraulic fluid. The piston has a second annular plate, slideable with respect to the first plate, and a second fluid passage near the outer periphery of the second plate. The first and second plates, at their inner peripheries, provide a controlled clearance to vary the rate of hydraulic fluid into the first fluid chamber as the second plate slides.

  • Patent number: 4004670
Abstract: A clutch for coupling an engine to a transmission gearbox engages and disengages automatically in response to engine speed variation. Springs hold the clutch pressure plate retracted from the clutch discs at idling speeds. As engine speed increases, centrifugally generated fluid pressure in the clutch lubricant overcomes the spring force and applies a modulated engagement pressure to the discs. An internal valve continuously supplies an oil flow to lubricate and cool the clutch components and to charge the centrifugal pressure-generating means. Retraction of the pressure plate shifts the valve to reduce the oil flow while the clutch is disengaged. This reduces viscous drag within the clutch and thereby assures a more controlled disengagement. Retainer means stores some of the reduced oil flow to assure that ample fluid is available to the centrifugal pressure-generating mechanism when engagement commences.
