  • Publication number: 20070254308
Abstract: The present invention concerns an array-based analytical system and method having an enhanced sensitivity which allows for simple and rapid analysis of relative unmodified samples which comprises an analytical system of the type having a plurality of different first members of a specific binding pair affixed in an array thereupon, a mixture including at least one second member of a specific binding pair capable of binding to one of the first members so as to form a specific binding pair which is affixed to the support member, and a reporter system that produces a detectable signal indicative of the presence of the specific binding pair on the support member and wherein the reporter system includes an amplified reporter system that is independent of layering.

  • Patent number: 4616167
Abstract: A power supply for small integrated circuit devices which utilize a nominal supply voltage of 1.5 V but which are energized by a long-life lithium-iodine battery having a terminal voltage of 2.8 V. The power supply reduces the voltage to the integrated circuit to the required 1.5 V and also provides a means for delivering current peaks to a device operated by the integrated circuit, such as a stepping motor or LED display, while maintaining a relatively constant supply voltage to the integrated circuit.

  • Patent number: 4010372
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for measuring the ultraviolet radiation in the UV-A and/or UV-B range with detector means for said ranges, switching means for considering the skin sensitivity, electronic means for evaluating the signals derived from the detector, means for displaying the intensity and/or the dose of the radiation and second switching means for selecting one of different quartz lamps in said ranges. This device is in particular adapted for digitally measuring the dose of harmful erythem effective UV-B radiation or the dose of therapeutic healing UV-A radiation. This invention further relates to a method for producing and calibrating said devices, in particular the shunts contained in said second switching means which enables to select different quartz lamps with different line intensities.

  • Patent number: 3961209
Abstract: This invention concerns an oscillator for time measurement, comprising a resonator the oscillation of which is maintained by at least one part reciprocated by electrostatic forces relative to at least one electrode connected to a direct voltage source, said part being periodically charged by contact with the electrode, or electrodes comprising an elastically deformable contact making member whose elastic deformation energy is much less when in contact with an electrode than the motional energy of the resonator.

  • Patent number: 3934162
Abstract: The present invention relates to a miniaturized nuclear battery, consisting of several in series connected cells, wherein each cell contains a support which acts as positive pole and which supports on one side a .beta.-emitter, above said emitter is a radiation resisting insulation layer which is covered by an absorption layer, above which is a collector layer, and wherein the in series connected cells are disposed in an airtight case.
