  • Patent number: 8216322
Abstract: The present invention is a solid fuel fire starter having a wicking element made of corrugated cardboard with an exposed top end for ignition by a flame source, a non-combustible housing surrounding the wicking element, the housing defining an open end for exposing the top end of the wicking element; and a paraffin wax reservoir within the housing integrally molded with the wicking element so that the wicking element conveys the paraffin wax by capillary action up into a flame.

  • Patent number: 5115796
Abstract: A diamond abrasive saw blade for the dry sawing or cutting of concrete, masonry or the like is disclosed. The saw blade comprises a flat, circular plate having a central mounting hole and having a diamond abrasive matrix rim on the outer periphery of the plate. The plate has a plurality of apertures therethrough spaced around the plate between the mounting hole and the diamond abrasive rim. A coating is applied to at least one face of the plate with this coating substantially filling the apertures for aiding in the securing of the coating to the plate. This coating includes abrasive particles with the thickness of the abrasive particles, the coating, and the plate being less than or equal to the thickness of the diamond abrasive matrix rim.A method of abrasively dry cutting or sawing of masonry or concrete utilizing such a saw blade is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4991354
Abstract: An adjustable workpiece supporting frame is disclosed for use with an abrasive saw supported relative to a base pan. The frame is removably mounted to the base pan and includes a plurality of generally parallel rails extending generally horizontally of the pan and also generally longitudinally of the saw. A series of spaced free-turning rollers are mounted on the rails for supporting a workpiece thereon while enabling longitudinal adjustment of the workpiece relative to the saw. A workpiece fence extends above and is generally parallel to the parallel rails with rollers, and is supported by the frame. The workpiece fence is laterally adjustable relative to the saw for precise measured adjustment thereof. The adjustable workpiece supporting frame thus provides both lateral and longitudinal adjustment relative to the abrasive saw.

  • Patent number: 4428159
Abstract: A portable, direct drive abrasive saw for cutting ceramic tile, bricks, masonry blocks, metal, refractory, or other work comprising a base pan of an electrically insulative, synthetic resin material with the pan constituting a coolant reservoir. A frame is secured to the pan and the frame includes a pair of generally parallel, spaced rails extending horizontally of the pan and a saw support fixture. A unitary, direct drive abrasive saw is fixedly mounted from the saw support fixture in a cutting position. The saw includes an electric motor, a rotary abrasive saw blade with the rotary axis of the saw blade being disposed within a plane generally perpendicular to the rails and a drive for directly interconnecting the motor and the saw blade.
