  • Patent number: 7921971
Abstract: An electromagnetically released spring-loaded brake for cooperation with a motor or similar, with the manual release of the brake being effected in a tangential direction by means of a manual release lever 9, and with actuation of the manual release lever 9 causing armature disc 3 to be urged towards coil carrier 1 via three or more transmission levers 10 mounting rolls 16 and camming surfaces 14 on armature disc 3. As a result, the width of the air gap between armature disc 3 and coil carrier 1 is reduced so that rotor 6 with its hub 4 will be free to rotate between friction linings 7 on armature disc 3 and flange plate 8. The object was to create a lockable manual release feature the actuation of which requires a low manual force on manual release lever 9, is very flat and compact in structure, has a relatively small diameter and is actuated in a tangentional direction (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 7438162
Abstract: The invention relates to a caliper brake for a brake disc, in particular for elevator drives. Said brake comprises a brake body that is mounted on a fixed bolt (7) in a floating manner (1) and a brake caliper (2) that impinges on the brake disc (3) from the outer periphery of the latter, in addition to a solenoid (14) that is integrated into the brake body (1) to electromagnetically pull a spring-loaded armature disc (4) against the brake body (1). Said armature disc (4) and the section of the brake caliper (2) lying axially opposite are equipped with friction linings (5, 6) for engaging with the two end faces of the brake disc (3).

  • Publication number: 20070107997
Abstract: The invention relates to a calliper brake for a brake disc, in particular for elevator drives. Said brake comprises a brake body that is mounted on a fixed bolt (7) in a floating manner (1) and a brake calliper (2) that impinges on the brake disc (3) from the outer periphery of the latter, in addition to a solenoid (14) that is integrated into the brake body (1) to electromagnetically pull a spring-loaded armature disc (4) against the brake body (1). • Publication number: 20060144653
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive assembly for a carriage (13) that can be displaced preferably in a vertical manner. Said assembly comprises a stationary corresponding gear rack (1), with an assigned pinion of a drive motor (22) that is situated on the carriage and comprises a fail-safe brake (23) on the B end plate, said pinion being driven by a gear (21) to displace the carriage (13) in a vertical manner. An auxiliary carriage retaining device can be engaged if necessary to secure the vertically displaceable carriage (13). To obviate the need for manual work to increase the operational safety during the set-up of the carriage and its associated machine-tool, the retaining device is located on the carriage as an auxiliary brake unit (20) and is configured to engage directly in the gear rack (1) by means of its own pinion (2), which runs along inactively during the normal displacement of the carriage (13). The brake unit (20) can be operated independently of the fail-safe brake (23) of the drive motor (22).

  • Publication number: 20040108177
Abstract: A brake coupling combination for a motor, preferably an electric motor, consisting of a brake which can be attached to the motor, the brake having a flange (1) with which it is directly connected to a correspondingly shaped part of the motor, characterized in that the brake is mounted on the end of the shaft (9) of the motor by means of a hub (4) and that a flexible coupling (K) connects directly to the brake for connection to a second shaft.
