  • Patent number: 4751456
Abstract: An arrangement for moving coil or iron instruments with an axis and a moving member attached thereto. The moving member is a moving coil or iron designed in the shape of a circular segment and has one or two arms at the axis for retention and for fixing its position. The arm(s) has free ends which exhibit a slit of a particular shape and dimension such that the axis fits into the slit. The free ends are slid in a fork-like manner onto the axis from the side, i.e., approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the axis. The free ends have prongs defining the slit located on opposite sides next to the axis and are connected to the axis directly or by means of intermediate parts.

  • Patent number: 4746889
Abstract: A method of making a magnet arrangement including a cylindrical magnet, pole shoes surrounding and resting against the magnets, the pole shoes formed of hollow cylinder sections, and two cover plates placed on the end faces of the magnet and the pole shoes, wherein the cover plates are connected to the pole shoes. The inner surfaces of the pole shoes facing the magnet have, before being placed on the magnet, a radius different from the radius of the outer cylindrical surface on the magnet. The magnet arrangement is obtained by placing the pole shoes against the magnet, pressing the pole shoes against the magnet until the radius of the outer surface of the magnet and the radius of the inner surfaces of the pole shoes are equal, and welding the cover plates and the pole shoes together. In the resulting magnet arrangement, the finish of the magnet must not need narrow tolerances, and it is ensured that no air gaps exist between the inner surfaces of the pole shoes and the outer surface of the magnet.

  • Patent number: 4452540
Abstract: A bearing assembly for mounting the movable member of a measuring instrument includes a bearing element engaging the movable member, a spring member applying a force to the bearing element in a direction toward the movable member, and a shock absorber fixed in the assembly operating as an abutment against which the bearing element is urged by the spring member. A liquid damping system provided in the assembly is formed by a first chamber located on the bearing side of the bearing element and a second chamber located on the opposite side of the bearing element with one or more passages being provided for the damping liquid to flow between the first and the second chamber during displacement of the bearing element, the passage being proportioned relative to the bearing element such that only a relatively small damping force is applied against the bearing element during displacement thereof.

  • Patent number: 4330747
Abstract: A measuring mechanism for a wide-angle moving coil measuring system and a method for its assembly. The mechanism includes concentrically arranged inner and outer pole rings. The rings terminate in arms between which a slot or spacing is arranged. The spacing is accessible from outside the mechanism in which spacing is a pre-assembled movable part having an axle or two axle-stubs, and moving coil frame is inserted into the internal space of the inner pole ring. The magnets are arranged to be positive-locked with the pole rings. Two arrangements of magnets cooperating with the pole rings are disclosed. Various embodiments and methods of assembly are disclosed.
