  • Patent number: 7354473
Abstract: A combined building air-conditioning unit and NBC protection system, containing an enclosed space housing a building air-conditioning unit and further including a plurality of chambers, a first chamber having an ambient air inlet port, one prefilter and a blower for sucking air through the prefilter, a second chamber having a valve including an open and closed state, receiving air from the blower and accommodating a C-detector and a valve actuator responsible, at least indirectly to, and operable by, the C-detector, and a third chamber housing at least one C-filter and a blower for sucking air from the second chamber via the C-filter into the building when the valve is in its closed state. A method for economically controlling air purity within a protected space is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070190922
Abstract: There is provided an NBC protection and decontamination system, including an enclosure, an airlock, an airlock compartment, having a ceiling, and including a back-flow collector, an air filtration unit, a compartment inlet valve communicating with the air outlet of the enclosure, an exit valve being provided in the compartment and spaced apart from the compartment inlet valve, and an opening providing controllable passage between the enclosure and the airlock, and an opening providing controllable passage between the airlock and the outside, wherein the airlock compartment is swept by two different airflows, a first airflow originating in the enclosure and a second airflow produced by the filtration unit.

  • Patent number: 6997976
Abstract: The invention provides a low-resistance gas adsorption filter provided with an activated carbon bed of bulk density less than 0.6 gram/cubic centimeter, the activated carbon bed being free of chromium 6+ salt, the filter being characterized by a gas holding capacity exceeding 300,000 milligram Dimethyl-methyl Phosphonate (DMMP)×minute/cubic meter and an airflow resistance such that the numerical value of air flow resistance in Pascal per millimeter of bed thickness does not exceed by more than 50% the numerical value of air velocity in centimeters per second.

  • Patent number: 6857956
Abstract: There is provided an airlock system utilizable with a protected Toxic Free Area (TFA) defined by an enclosure including spaced-apart first and second door arrangements, each door arrangement having an entrance and an exit and being divided by partitions into a plurality of sections, an airlock space coupled to, and bridging between, the first and second door arrangement, the exit of the second door being connectable to the protected TFA, while the first door arrangement having its entrance located outside the TFA, the arrangement being such that there is no direct airflow from the entrance of the first door arrangement to the exit of the second door arrangement. A method for facilitating entrance and egress from a Toxic Free Area (TFA) defined by an enclosure, without the danger of contamination of the protected TFA, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5897756
Abstract: A device in the form of a flow cell for the chemical or electrolytic surface treatment of plate-shaped articles has first feed elements in the form of tubes with outlet openings for the directed supply of a process liquid to the articles to be treated and, in accordance with the invention, additional, second feed means in the process liquid for the directed introduction of air into the active area of guide elements, which consist of flow gratings, maintained at a distance on both sides of the articles to be treated, with small plates arranged in the manner of a shutter, which are inclined upward and downward in the direction parallel with the main plane of the flat plate articles. This principle of admixing air in connection with the design of the guide elements as flow gratings has the effect that the emerging air bubbles pass the flow gratings in an upward direction and carry the surrounding process liquid along.
