  • Patent number: 6777668
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for adhesive bonding of a backing plate for a sensor assembly to a vehicle window, especially a windscreen of a passenger car or truck. The backing plate has an adhesive layer and is heated at least in the area of the adhesive layer by a heating device until the adhesive layer is softened sufficiently to carry out adhesive bonding. The backing plate is transferred into a contact pressure device and the contact pressure device presses the backing plate with the adhesive layer on to the vehicle window for a predetermined length of time. In order to improve the usability of such a method in the context of mass production, it is provided that the heating device emits infrared radiation, heating of the adhesive layer being carried out until it has softened sufficiently by positioning the backing plate with the adhesive layer facing the heating device at a close spacing for a predetermined length of time.

  • Patent number: 6076877
Abstract: Arrangement for the vehicle-fixed holding of control units in a motor vehicle. An electronic control unit carrier component is constructed as an essentially flatly designed sheet metal stamping. The control unit receiving areas are in each case arranged side-by-side on a top side as well as on a bottom side of the sheet metal stamping.

  • Patent number: 5436799
Abstract: A modular switching-element block which comprises at least one base body having plug-in locations for switching elements, such as electrical switches, and is fitted with a base body which is split into a plurality of base-body modules which can be plugged into one another. In comparison with a common base body, this arrangement makes possible greater variability of the number of plug-in locations, with respect to freely selectable special fits with switching elements, and reduces the advance-provision cost for a standard fit.

  • Patent number: 5278363
Abstract: A control device for the control of stepping motors for the adjustment of a motor vehicle seat, including an adjustment of the seat depth, being the distance between the front edge of the seat surface and the backrest, for adaptation to different thigh lengths of the respective passengers. The control device comprises, in a preferred embodiment, at least one actuating element with two parts, that are displaceable independently of but parallel to each other, as well as first and second switches assigned to parts of the actuating element, respectively, wherein the first switches are provided to control at least the seat depth adjustment, while the second switches are provided to control at least the longitudinal seat adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5233228
Abstract: A control device for adjustment of reversible electrical adjusting devices, in particular of motor vehicle rear-view mirrors, having a selector switch which can be switched by means of a knob between a multiplicity of stable switching positions for selection of a mirror to be adjusted, and three tip switches, which can be switched by the same knob for the actual control of the adjusting device. A four-digit binary code, composed of signals of the selector switch and of the tip switches, is generated at four connection terminals of the switch arrangement by actuating the knob while maintaining the set position of the selector switch. In a fourth stable switching position of the selector switch, the switching contact of the said selector switch is not in contact with any of the fixed contacts assigned to it and the downstream connection terminals are potential-free.

  • Patent number: 5038085
Abstract: A method controls adjustment devices of a motor vehicle seat. The devices are assigned to the longitudinal movement of the seat and the tilting movement of the seat back and are activated by positioning switching elements to move the motor vehicle seat into predetermined set positions. A switching device corresponding with the seat back blocks the associated adjustment device before the seat back runs into an obstacle lying in its range of adjustment. In order to optimize the motion sequences when a rearward tilting movement of the seat back is initiated by one positioning switching element, shortly before the seat back runs into the obstacle, the adjustment device is blocked from further tilting movement of the seat back and a longitudinal movement of the seat forward is automatically initiated by the switching device.

  • Patent number: 5000283
Abstract: An adjustable front seat is arranged in a two-door motor vehicle and has a backrest capable of forward-tilting and inclination-adjusting about the same axis. A locking of the backrest with a catch pin is caused by a fork latch, the locking of which is cancelled as a result of a pivoting of a spring-loaded detent pawl. Under adverse preconditions, a secure locking of the backrest can be provided if, when the locking position is reached, the detent pawl falls into the fork latch and the detent pawl interacts with a switch member. When the detent pawl has not properly engaged the fork latch this generates a signal, which, with the associated door closed and the ignition key inserted, activates a backrest-pivoting device for pivoting the backrest forwards while the momentary backrest inclination position is maintained, to pivot the fork latch (supported against the catch pin) about the latter until the detent pawl falls into the fork latch.

  • Patent number: 4894650
Abstract: A control unit for manually controlling six reversible electromechanical adjusting devices utilizing a single joy stick actuator which is rotatable to two positions from a neutral position tiltable in a first direction to two other positions from the neutral position and tiltable at right angles to the first direction to two further positions from the neutral position. At each of the six positions various switches are either opened or closed to provide a binary code output which is fed to a decoding and control circuit which operates selected one(s) of the six adjusting devices. In this manner three rear-view mirrors on a vehicle can be properly positioned by two adjusting devices rotating the mirrors along a right angled axis.
