  • Patent number: 5546737
Abstract: A mowing device for stalky stem products has a cutting disc rotatable about a substantially vertical axis, and a transporting disc rotatable coaxially to the cutting disc at a distance from the latter and having a plurality of pocket-shaped recesses on its periphery for receiving stalky stem products. The cutting disc and the transporting disc are driven in opposite directions. A drive drives the cutting disc and the transporting disc in different directions. Also, the cutting disc on the upper side over its periphery can be provided with approximately gap-less elements suitable for preventing falling of stem product stalks cut by the cutting disc.

  • Patent number: 4580398
Abstract: Apparatus and method for rolling and wrapping a crop bale are described. A baling press including a rolling chamber has an interior circumference lined with rotating conveyor elements. A crop entry port receives cut crops as well as a wrapping material. During a final layer formation of the bale, the crop material is fed to the entry port to roll with the baled crop exiting said entry port.

  • Patent number: 4514969
Abstract: A roll bale press apparatus for rolling and wrapping harvested agricultural material comprises a prechamber that is disposed forward of a press region. A variable position pickup device is operative in a first position thereof to direct harvested agricultural material through a first inlet orifice into the press region, and is operative in a second position thereof to direct harvested agricultural material into the prechamber. The apparatus includes a second inlet orifice above the first inlet orifice, between the prechamber and press region, through which harvested agricultural material may pass from the prechamber into the press region, and the prechamber includes a transport mechanism for conveying material in the prechamber upwardly to the second inlet orifice.

  • Patent number: 4035992
Abstract: A hay harvesting machine comprises a movable support; a drum supported on the support for rotation about a horizontal axis transversal to the direction of motion of the machine; driving means for rotating the drum; conveying members for the cut mass provided on the periphery of said drum; and a plurality of rollers each supported on said chassis for freewheeling about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum, said rollers being arranged concentrically about the periphery of the drum and being closely spaced peripherally from each other and from the drum, whereby the cut mass is moved by said conveyor means upon rotation of the drum into the space between the rollers and the drum where it is broken up before being discharged to the ground.

  • Patent number: 4033628
Abstract: A spout of an agricultural ejector is mounted on the ejector housing for angular displacement about an axis. An planetary gear transmission is interposed between the spout and the housing and has one bevel gear stationarily connected to the housing and another bevel gear connected to the spout for rotation therewith. A bevel pinion is mounted on a sleeve for rotation about its own axis and for orbiting about the axis of the spout in meshing engagement with the bevel gears. A cylinder and piston unit is pivotably connected to the housing and to the sleeve and rotates the sleeve so that the planetary gear transmission causes the spout to rotate at twice the angular speed of the sleeve. In this manner, the direction in which the spout ejects can be rapidly changed.
