  • Patent number: 10300919
Abstract: A desired change of a time derivative of dynamic torque (Tqfw), provided to an output shaft from an engine in a vehicle, from a current value to a new desired value is determined. A current rotational speed difference (??pres) is determined between a first end of the powertrain in a vehicle, which rotates with a first rotational speed (?1), and a second end of the powertrain, which rotates with a second rotational speed. The first rotational speed (?1) is then controlled on the basis of the desired value of the time derivative for the dynamic torque (Tqfw), a spring constant (k) related to a torsional compliance in the powertrain, and the determined current rotational speed difference {??pres). Through control of the first rotational speed, the current value for the time derivative for the dynamic torque is also indirectly controlled towards the desired value.

  • Patent number: 10036339
Abstract: A method and a system for control of a torque Tqdemand requested from an engine in a vehicle, wherein the engine provides a dynamic torque Tqfw in response to the torque Tqdemand. Control of the requested torque Tqdemand is performed such that the control provides a desired value Tqfw_req for the dynamic torque and/or a desired derivative Tqfw_req for the dynamic torque. This is achieved by basing the control on at least one current value Tqfw_pres for the dynamic torque, on one or several of the desired value Tqfw_req and the desired derivative Tqfw_req for the dynamic torque, and on a total delay time tdelay-total elapsing from determination of at least one parameter value, to when a change of the dynamic torque Tqfw based on the determined at least one parameter value, has been effected.

  • Patent number: 9592821
Abstract: A drive system and a method of driving a vehicle (1). The drive system includes (1) a combustion engine (2), a gear box (3), an electric machine (9), and a planetary gear. A control unit (18) has access to information concerning the moment (Tel) of the electric machine (9) for driving the vehicle (1) and to calculate the moment (T1c) of the combustion engine (2) for driving the vehicle (1) at at least a first operation occasion (D1) when there is a known relation between the moment (Tel) of the electric machine and the moment (T1c) of the combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 9109647
Abstract: A method, a device and a computer program for control of a motor vehicle's propulsion. When a clutch torque (Req T) is demanded by a driver activating of an accelerator pedal, the degree of closure (G) of the vehicle's clutch actuator is controlled by feedback on the basis of a monitored engine torque. There is at least one further consumer (290) of engine power in addition to propulsion. The method includes detecting (s410) activation of the at least one further consumer and, when such activation is detected, changing (s420) the feedback control to open control, whereby the degree of closure (G) of the vehicle's clutch actuator is based on a predetermined relationship between the degree of closure (G) and the clutch torque (Req T).

  • Publication number: 20150149012
Abstract: A drive system and a method of driving a vehicle, wherein the drive system includes a combustion engine, a motor control function, a gear box, an electric machine, an energy storage and a planetary gear. A control unit receives information concerning the charge level of the energy storage and determines if the charge level is lower than a limit level such that the energy storage needs charging. If this is the case, the motor control function is controlled such that the combustion engine increases rotation speed in relation to the rotation speed when the energy storage does not need charging.

  • Patent number: 9014929
Abstract: A method for determining a need for contact point adaptation for a clutch (106) of a vehicle (100), which clutch (106) transmits driving power between a power source engine (101) and at least one powered wheel (113, 114). At a first point in time, determining a first temperature (T1) of the clutch (106), comparing the first temperature (T1) with a second temperature (T2) of said clutch (106) determined at a second point in time which precedes the first point in time, and determining a need for contact point adaptation when the first temperature (T1) differs from the second temperature (T2) by more than a first value (?T)).

  • Publication number: 20150032350
Abstract: A method for wear-limiting torque build-up in a vehicle (100; 110) provided with an engine (230), a clutch configuration (235) and a gearbox (240). The method has steps of demanding (s410) a power train torque; guiding (s420) the torque build-up towards the power train torque demanded (Tqreq); responding to continuing torque build-up at a certain engine speed (Es) by only providing a reduced power train torque (Tqlimit) which is less than a maximum available engine torque (Tqmax); continuously deciding (s450) whether the vehicle is moving or not; then either further increasing the power train torque (Tq) by increasing the engine's speed (Es) if the prevailing power train torque (Tq) is substantially the same as the reduced power train torque (Tqlimit) and the vehicle (100) is not moving, or automatically activating (s460) the clutch configuration (235) to non-slipping operation if the prevailing power train torque is substantially the same as the reduced power train torque and the vehicle is not moving.
